You need to check out Tropea and Capo Vaticano beaches, the water is crystal clear and its a very affordable area to stay in. Check out Pizzo too. Further north in Calabria is San Nicola Arcella and its ArcoMagno Beach which has a huge arch and cove beach, its spectacular! Praia a Mare next to it is also a nice beach with big flat stones that feel so warm to lay on. September is a great time to go, you have it all to yourselves.

The color of waterfalls usually/sometimes don’t look so good (blurred or brownish) after heavy rainfall, but the good thing is that there’s more volume of water pouring.

I was lucky enough to visit Tiu Kelep in 2023! Such an amazing place. I got taken there by a local friend from Gili T, so he luckily showed me the slide & the bat cave :p Glad you guys also discovered this gem!

Hi Leo! Cell coverage on Nusa Penida is reliable if you use a Telkomsel SIM card, which you can buy at the airport. We haven't used roaming or eSIM options here, but I recommend not relying on WiFi as it can be quite unstable on the island.

Hi, the whole Trentino Alto Adige area is subject to restrictions because drones disturb the local wildlife. I highly doubt they had a permit in their possession, which takes weeks to be issued.

I am celebrating my retirement from 50 years as an RN. I did a home exchange, it will be my only one, and found a place for 8 days for free. My flight was $420 RT from Boston but I applied for an American Airlines card and got it for $167. I'm bringing dry pasta and beans, like cold black bean soup, to make soup and stews. I used to work in Utqiavik (Barrow AK) as a temp, so I am all about saving, and I'm doing it on SS :) You have great tips!
