To all of you guys who are planning a tonsillectomy. If you have issues with your tonsils at the moment with disgusting stones and bad smell or if the tonsils are sick or infected or enlarged etc…. Just get them removed and you will save your problem once and forever. Getting a tonsillectomy was one of the best decisions of my life. There were rumours that this is an important organ etc… Bullshit! Other rumours saying that once you remove the tonsils the chance of getting a sore throat or infections with flu is higher. Again bullshit. It’s the other way around. My life is amazing after 10 years of living without them and I get to have a sore throat much less often. The only hard thing is the recovery. It takes full 9 days to recover. The hardest are the third, fourth, 5’th days….Having a feeling that your throat is cut open everytime you swallow even your spit. I had my surgery with only local anaesthesia. No pain during it.

I went home with my gallbladder in place. I’d rather clean up my lifestyle-low fat plant based diet-than face the typical complications like diarrhea from loosing an important organ. I can always let them yank it out later if my plan fails. So far I have been very careful and haven’t had any further attacks. Wish me luck.

I had a gas bubble in my eye. It lasted almost 10 weeks. I also had a laser not a freeze, but I had a full-blown vitrectomy surgery. Which is for more severe retinal detachment.

Misleading - you can have floaters and flashes but not a detached retina. Thats called a PVD

My tonsils swell up frequently if I get exposed to cold even for a short while or drink something cooler than room temperature in winter. No problems in summer. I visited a doctor sometime around 2000 and he told me not to remove them and keep gargling with salt water and take good care of my oral hygiene which I do. It has become so inconvenient and irksome that I fantasize about relocating to a place close to the equator where it doesn’t get cold. Obviously kidding but that’s how miserable I get.

This video information is very out-dated......splint & sling, immobilize? NOT, they want you to use your hand and wrist ASAP as recovery is so much quicker. Other things said are no longer valid either. Check for updated procedures within the last 2-years...

Dude I feel ya! Got mine taken out 3 days ago! Right after surgery, I had never experienced that much pain in my whole life - and I was told the gallbladder attack was the most painful part! - since then, I got back home and I’m still in so much pain, I live my days through pain meds and heat/cold packs! I’m scared to eat cause nothing comes out, lying down hurts like a motherf***, walking feels like I’ve been beaten up… doc said you’ll be fine within 5 days… I don’t see how!
@Times397Күн бұрын
Really? I had mine removed and was all good. My throat hurt the most since they had to place the tube down my throat for the anesthesia.
@giniecourbinКүн бұрын
@ Damn I envy you! My throat was also painful from the breathing tube, and i had a soft voice for about 4 weeks because of my vocal cords being swollen! Now my scars are still a bit painful 5 weeks post-op, and I have some soreness from time to time where the rotten gallbladder used to be, but I'm finally much better. Funny thing is I have an autoimmune disorder (arthritis) and that hurts on a daily basis, I broke bones, sprained ankles, fingers and all because of it, yet none of it ever hurt me as much as the gallbladder removal! But eh people don't stress, worst case scenario, it does get back to normal after a few weeks! Don't want anyone to get all freaked out hahaha
