Hello my Friend. Thanks for the shout out. As for the Mesa Boogie sound, I used a 2 x 12 Recto Cab loaded with Celestian V-30's. I mic'ed the cab with a Blue - Spark condenser mic. From there I send the signal into my Zoom L-20 mixing board. I use Studio One software for mixing. I do like the Tonex. It's a cool gadget. I don't see myself using it for a live gig situation but it's cool to use at home when I don't want to disturb the family. I also would like to add the fact that the IK Multimedia people stand behind their product. Overall, I think the Tonex is fun. A good pedal to have. So, have a great holiday season and keep on playing.

@jakesmith450611 күн бұрын
Hello My Friend. You just saved yourself a lot of frustration and a load of insults from the Presonus customer service crew. So many other manufacturers stand behind their product with pride. Presonus does not. You'll have a much happier experience with just about any other brand. I turned to ZOOM L-20. It's been great. But other possibilities could be Tascam, Yamaha, Mackie, Allen & Heath etc. They all offer peace of mind with their products. It's understandable that not every item out there is going to be perfect but the way the manufacturer treats you needs to be pretty perfect. Not a load of insults, like the Presonus crew launches at their customers. In the meantime, be safe and watch how you spend your money. Presonus is more than willing to sell you an unreliable piece of gear and slap you in the face for the heck of it. ☹

The D-16 isn't fancy at all but it delivers that famous martin sound. I love it. I used a capo and alternate tuning in order to get the vibe of this Zep influenced song. I also used at Blue - Spark mic and an Oktava MC-012 mic. Not expensive mics but they delivered enough sound for the purposes of this humble demo. if the 70/80s are 80w and the swamp thang are150w, how does that work?
@jakesmith4506Ай бұрын
Hello my friend, thank you for visiting my channel. Well, the Celestion 70/80 speaker is indeed an 80 watt speaker. It's their low budget speaker that often shows up in low budget combo amps or speaker cabs. The Swamp Thang is made by Eminence and has much higher quality components used in the manufacturing process. The 150 watt rating gives you a higher headroom before breakup. The Swamp Thang is also heavier and has a bigger magnet than the 70/80 speaker. I purchased the Marshall cab because it's a great cab at a low price. I knew that the 70/80 isn't to my liking so I replaced it with a much higher quality speaker. There are many different options when it comes to speakers. The 70/80 may be just fine for a lot of musicians. It's a matter of preference for sure. I hope that I answered your question in a satisfactory manner. In the meantime, keep on rocking and have a wonderful upcoming holiday season!

It doesn't matter what Brand you buy you'll alway hear of instances where the product failed and the customer service was sub par. Working in the industry I can say in my experience that most (not all obviously) of the these types of problems are user based. For the same thing to happen on two different mixers two questions come to mind. One, what mistake is being made by the user? And two, could it just be a coincidence???
@jakesmith450621 күн бұрын
Hello my friend. Thank you for your comments. Yes, I know. How could two failures happen with the same product...... Well, it did. I know that it's bad luck indeed. But, after a few nasty conversations with the Presonus customer service people I knew that they were used to many complaints from customers. This isn't a case of plugging the product into a high voltage outlet or some other user based disaster. This is the fact that Presonus makes an unreliable, unstable product. The best way to avoid the disaster and disappointment is to stop purchasing their product. Yes, I did purchase a second unit. Hoping that things would work out. Things did not work out for me. So, no more purchases from Presonus. I understand what you are saying. it's possible that some users are re-creating their own problems. But, in my situation, the problem was with Presonus quality. By all means, continue to point out factors in possible failures for customers. The industry does need watch dogs like yourself to keep things in perspective. Rock on and be safe!

Hi Jake Great Video and playing. Would you say that the SG Modern lies exactly between the SG Standard and Les Paul in terms of sound? A kind of midranged Les Paul?
@jakesmith4506Ай бұрын
Hello My Friend, Thank you for the shout out. Well, I suppose that I never really thought about the sound similarities between the instruments. In most cases the sound of one instrument can vary a lot depending on amps, speakers, effects, cabinets, and if a person is using a modeling amp. Sooo......wow. I think it's a wide open door on sound from instrument to instrument. Half the time I hear a Tele on a recording I think it's a Gretsch. hahaha. The SG modern is really a superb instrument. Hello my Friend. The Telecaster Ultra is still a rocking good axe to have. Fender totally knocked it out of the park on this instrument. I still love mine. The fit, finish and attention to detail is superb. The weight is perfect as well as balance. I love the pickups too. Lots of twang if you need it but it can turn into a beast if you need to push it over the top with high gain. Jimmy Page used a Telecaster for a lot of Zep tunes on the first album. Of course, people saw him with Les Paul guitars after the first release and assumed that the sounds they were hearing were from a Les Paul. hahaha. Well, Telecasters cover a lot of ground. I always thought that the guitar in "Last Train to Clarksville' (monkees hit) was a Gretsch.....nope. It was a TELE! see: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bX2Zh5ykYppkbposi=rowxqjV1YzI4xmhx Soooo........ You can cover a lot of ground with a Tele. It's really amazing. By all means, think it over and make the best choice for your needs. HAPPY HUNTING. and above all.....PLAY WITH PASSION!
