@@magiwastaken One of the best things about this game is how much time played is worth. You could play for 40 hours and still not use every weapon. EDF as a whole should be an eye opener for a lot of game developers. It doesn't get enough love and it hurts me for no personal reason.

I mean, it's an idle game, so the journey is the goal in a way. Furthermore, when you close the game, you accumulate offline time which you can use to speed up the game (increase tick-speed).

The game still is getting updates, including balance patches, so I'd just wait it out. That said, I don't think metaprogression would "fix" the game. I'll elaborate on that in a moment but I'll also talk about it more in an upcoming Magicast/Powerwash Simulator episode if you're interested. :) Would love to hear your input, too, though! Metaprogression is used in games to stretch out the game's playtime, most of the time. In games with metaprogression, the game gets made harder so that you can then get ways to make the game easier and like buff yourself up via metaprogression - by introducing grinding to the game. This can be done well, like with Hades, where the focus is the narrative and the metaprogression adds onto the gameplay by making it easier to get further into the runs. Runs aren't impossible to beat to begin with but if players beat the game right away, they'd end up not seeing enough of the narrative, so yeah. Most of the time, though, developers just nerf the player so that they can buff themselves back up via permanent upgrades. I don't like it. That said, I do think there is a way to do it that is healthy for games, like in Endgame of Devil where you unlock artefacts you can take with you but you can only take three of them at a time, so you create a build of sorts based on that, or like in Legends of Runeterra: Path of Champions where you have these relics that you can equip on your champions to affect your gameplan... although I dislike the champion level system in that game. :> What do you think?

@@magiwastaken I do agree with your perspective that it just feels like manacles being put on the player when its implemented poorly, but I honestly feel there could be a lot of fun and creative ways to add meta progression to this game. Also, metaprogression adds the feeling that you gained something from your run even if you eventually end up failing, which can be the reason why many people stick to a game they find difficult instead of giving up

I for one would definitely like to see meta progression in this game. It helps with feeling excited to play when you unlock something new IMO, at the current state of the game, It feels like there is too little to "gain" by finishing a run.

@@magiwastaken 🤣 thats a card game yahtzee is a dice game^^ in yahtzee you take turns attempting to score points - when its your turn you roll 5 dice and then choose any dice you want to keep and roll the rest again - you can then do that one more time and then choose how to score the result - each scoring option can only be chose once in the game and if you choose something invalid the score is 0 the upper scoring options are: 1s,2s,3s,4s,5s,6s which all score the sum of all dice of the chosen number in your result if the total of those scores is 63 or higher you get a bonus of 35 points the lower scoring options are: 3 of a kind - scores the sum of all dice if they contain 3 of the same number 4 of a kind - see above but 4 dice full house - 25 points and requires 3 of one kind a different pair small straight - 30 points - requires 4 sequential dice big straight - 40 points - requires all dice to be sequential yahtzee - 50 points - all five dice have to be the same chance - scores the sum of all dice - no requirements i think the similarities to this game become quite apparent^^

As mentioned in the title, the game's art direction and even plot are heavily inspired by 80's cartoons. If you'd watch She-Ra, He Man or any other shows in that era, you might be surprised that colourful hair or women that can fight aren't all that rare. The two instances you mention are as follows: - a black boy with purple dreads (which you label as "feminist", lol) - a prominent character (?) - I assume you're talking about the warrior lady in the front because I have no idea what you could be on about other than that. If you've played Guild Wars, Skyrim or any other fantasy game, you might notice more women that are strong because they fight to protect their kids and stuff. I'm sorry to hear about you being turned off by purple hair and I do hope you get over it since you're missing out on a lot of good games if buff ladies and colourful hair are such huge turn-offs for ya.
