amazingly good tutroial on sound design... made me wanna take out my K2 and mess with it.. :) but even better is the discovery of your EP thru this video, I'm 2 tracks into it and it's the best music I've heard in a while! you made the ms20 resurrrect in a different and fresh sound!

I like it a lot! I love the fact, that you did this with your ms-20 mini while any other user did something different with it. For me the ms-20 is like a next gen piano: which is on steroids and trimmed (no polyphony) at the same time! Thx for publishing your work!

Great job, really entertaining. Some people will develop GAS for the model samples. (See what I did there? Haha).

How did u feed that melody into the synth??
@kevinsullivan44953 жыл бұрын
I didn't know that was possible either. But you can feed midi data into the MS 20 mini from a DAW using the printer cable jack in the back. I use Logic and I have to set up a External MIDI track which lets me select the MS-20 when I have it plugged into my MacBooks USB port with the printer cable. Not sure how you'd do it with other DAWs. Pretty easy with Logic, but I don't think the MS-20 can read velocity data, and you can't use midi FX (such as the actual arpeggiator) with the external midi tracks in Logic, which is kinda dumb, but there's some ways around that. There may be other ways too.

Benji! So sorry for replying late, had a long busy couple of weeks. Though you might've seen Kevins reply already. In the new MS20 (mini) there's a midi input, I use that together with my audio interface and DAW (Logic Pro X) to feed the MS20 some melodies
@basn75913 жыл бұрын
MS20 can't indeed read velocity, but you can actually use midi FX on external instruments (which is something I did)! You just need to be a little creative ;) Instead of using external midi, you choose a software instrument, when selecting the instrument you choose external instrument from the utility menu. And that's it! From there you can route the midi again, but also use midi FX.
