I'm sure I've missed great local bands over the years as I become more of a hermit, so I'm happy to discover this one and support them. I'm going to check out that One With The Riverbed now, while listening to the new Paysage D'hiver (as I haven't opened it and only true black metalheads have at the very least all his cd releases 😂) while binning all the crap I've bought from last year 😭

Thanks for the shoutout Scott. Yeah man that Departure Chandelier bores into the brain. I didn't know that about their releases. Reigning Phoenix is the label putting out that released God Dethroned, Deicide & Sebastian Bach's new albums. I listened to part of that Yoth Iria while making dinner one night but never gave it a proper listen. Great album cover. I enjoyed that Forgjord but have only listened to it twice and don't have a copy. Definitely some doom elements. Happy New Year to ya 🤘

Opeth is very good, I just had that nitpick with it. It probably wouldn't bother most people. Ian Anderson's flute contributions are great though! Hope you like Madder Mortem, they are criminally underrated. I think having a female singer that isn't a sexy lady in a corset was just too strange for the metal press, haha. A while ago I decided to give a whole bunch of popular Female singers a good try. Putting together greatest hits of their most popular songs, if I don't like what I hear at least I can say I gave them a try. I can honestly say music by Dua Lipa, Billy Ellish, Taylor Swift did nothing for me. However I did like Lana Del Rey and Rihanna.Taylor has had a long career and I remember Rolling Stone magazine giving " Folklore ", their album of the year. Merry Xmas Scott.
