Awesome performance. Kinda wish everything was mike up individually so it could be mixed better for stereo. Or maybe some eq to balance it a little better. Regardless, this is great.

what did you use as the mutes? is it something simple that I could just DIY or is it a specific product?

Charlie (Owen) who arranged this was the percussion professor at the University of Michigan for many decades. Terrific percussion teacher. Very nice man. But this is quite corny. I remember that he eventually preferred this to be performed on marimba, as he felt the newer modern xylophone tone color was a bit too "glassy" and sharp as compared to the older warmer tone quality of xylophones when he had originally arranged this long, long ago...

Great music but how about some colorful clothes, more smiles and a little bit more movement on the hips! Are they instructed by adults to be "proper" or something?

I'm definitely not jealous of how the higher percussion group got to play this piece, but not our group. Definitely not.

Hi! I’m performing this piece for my senior recital, and I’m curious which death whistle to get?? There’s so many options and I want to make sure I get a decent one. What mallets are you using as well?

Great Video; Thank You! Always love it when advanced performers record some of the easier repertoire to model for our younger musicians. Oh yeah, we appreciate the low music stands.

These mallets were perfect! Usually I don’t like hard mallets for a roll heavy piece, but it adds meaning. Bc you’re lost in the beginning, the sound can’t be perfect. Here you’re implementation is changing the meaning of the music which is incredible
