Otterbox messed up this time big Their Lumen series comes with camera control button but rest all have a big chunky cut out for some reason, its surprising even when Spigen figured out the control button for camera on their T series

If you’re on the fence and not sure if you should get this, please take my advice. I went to the Apple Store to get one and try to do it myself cause it looked pretty simple. However, when I finally got home, I put it on exactly like the video says on their website and it still had bubbles so I ended up having to take it back to return it. I highly recommend if you are going to buy one of these and you have to get one to have the Apple Store do it for you in the store because if they get any bubbles when they do it at the store, they will just take it off and put a different one on until it is perfect.

The iPhone 16 version of the Apple silicone case is an excellent case. It’s the best implementation of an integrated camera control bottom that you can get in a case right now… it’s also not lint magnet this year.

Major issue with this is that the edge is super-harsh. No rounding off at all. Feels horrible each time you thumb swipe up from the bottom. Good installation on iPhone 15 Pro and might be tough but the harsh edge is just horrible.

The alignment tray does not seem very precise. One tiny move off center will misalign the protector. Have you tried Torras or Spigen? Their trays slaps down only one way.

the Lumen case for the pro models also have the camera control button on them. I believe they have the button on the lumen because the lumen is sold directly through apple and I'm pretty sure it's made exclusively for apple. I don't remember seeing them for sale anywhere else but apples store and otter box directly.

Otterbox lost its touch. The Symmetry is getting thinner and thinner. Please STOP! The deal breaker for me are these holes for the strap that weaken the corners.

I LOVE the new open design, it leaves a direct touch to your titanium device. Sometimes it feels good to directly feel the phone you paid $1200 for. If you seek more protection, go to their bulky defender or commuter product series. 😂😂

Otterbox has a clear case “coming soon” with camera control. So, the case is closed and the gap is resolved.

I would have liked to see how well the new camera button actually works with that case. From other reviews it seemed like at least magsafe isn't really as strong as it could be with this case, so the camera button is another question mark for me.

Fwiw the camera button still works through ~2mm of clear plastic (have a case with a cutout and experimented a bit to see if I could come up with something that makes the sunk in button and sharp edges less annoying) so I’d assume it works the same as it would without a case given that they’ve probably come up with something better than the jank I taped together in 5mins

well its more like they did it for the Lumen, but not for the Symmetry series instead of doing it for the 16 and not the 16 Pro (just how you phrased it). Hell, even their Defender XT case has the cutout and not built-in! I bought the Apple clear Magsafe case and am going to exchange it for the clear/black version of the Lumen case some time next week because the buttons on it are wayyyy too stiff and after doing some research its apparently been a thing for years. Going by your video the Lumen's buttons seem to be wayyy easier to click

I wish the Defender series has a built-in! I've always been using those to protect my phones and I'm nervous about going with a lighter one. I hope they release an updated version of the bulkier ones with the button cover like this!

@@ToadPacShakur I’m coming from the 14 pro so I’m new to the action button. When I first got my phone I was watching tips and tricks about the action button as my iPhone 14 Pro didn’t have it. At one point in the video the person said “we have had reports about people having trouble with the action button with the clear MagSafe cases.” I’m like how has this been going on this long and it still hasn’t been fixed. If Apple wants to bring back phones with more buttons after trying to get rid of all of them then they can’t stick with making cases the same and need to make the buttons easy to use with the cases ON
