I would keep stitching on the one with half stitches. It will give it dimension, texture, it's back ground and will be shadowy. I have piece I did years ago, I truly love it, it has back ground trees , half stitches, looks great

Garden. I love that Christmas woodlands piece. I think that you should put it in time out and decide next year what to do with it. If you want to decide this year, I think you should start over because I think your issues with it will make you unhappy even after it is finished. The Cat Alphabet is so cute! ☺️. Sorry that your vacation is over but it’s nice that you can ease into work a bit.

Santa stitch suggestions: For the sky: Suggest make the sky with whole stitches. Go back over with the top leg. If adding the top leg, makes the sky too dark, try using a shade lighter on top. Three suggestions for the miscount: 1) Find a place that you are certain is correct. Count past the tree and continue. That might help you find your error. 2) Spot check every 30 or 40 blocks (10x10 stitches-check the entire block) to see if the stitching is still correct. You should be able to pinpoint where the error is by doing that without too much difficulty because when you get to a block 30 or 40 stitches away that’s incorrect, just backtrack by 10 x 10 blocks. 3) Mail the piece and a copy of the pattern used so far to a friend to hunt for the error.

Summer montage is beautiful! That rose could stand on its own. How big will that stitch be when totally completed?

I’ve never heard or even thought about what direction the half stitches should be placed. My 1/2 stitch lays opposite from the second leg of my full cross.

I've heard that frogs are about the size to fit into cup holders. They make stitchy baskets out of picnic baskets that have cup holders on them and put the frogs in there to hold them. I still love that Halloween window. I'm waiting for payday to try to get it. My heart goes out to Daleen's family. Thank you for sharing the news. She will be missed.

I love that you are reconsidering some of your projects and their "expected finish dates." Sometimes life gets in the way of our hobby and that is okay. I have found myself doing way less stitching and a little bit more reading, but walking has increased and then just resting. I am sometimes sad not to be stitching, but my physical and mental health are enjoying the reprieve. As soothing as stitching can be, sometimes doing absolutely nothing is the balm for my soul. If you really love Christmas Dinner, restart.... on April Fools Day next year. Happy stitching, dear friend!

Ha ha - I love the idea of restarting on April Fools day! The thing about planning and organizing is knowing that plans can - and often do- change. It took me a long time to learn that! <3

Hi sweet friend! So sorry your month off is over already but I know you were very productive during that month. Summer Montage is looking so gorgeous. The rose looks real. Great progress on Beautiful Girl. I have moved most of my overdyed flosses to the new house since I have all the stuff I am going to work on until September pulled. I am so far behind due to not stitching for nearly 3 weeks in June and July due to the fire, and then with Baby passing I didn't stitch a couple of days. I got her ashes back this week in a beautiful wood carved box along with her paw print engraved on a keyring with her birth and death dates on the back along with the Rainbow Bridge verse on a bookmark and a really nice card with a packet of wildflower seeds. Congrats on the green scissor frog. If you can find the right size cup or short vase, that works well for holding the frog so the tips don't scratch things. I love the mouse wedding photo on the front of TWCS so looking forward to the flip through. I am having a hard time coming up with something for over the Mountains but may end up using a bird of some type. So sorry to hear about a fellow floss tuber who passed. Hugs to you. Love and hugs to you and the boys. Happy stitching and don't get too bored in all your meetings. Dawn

Glad to catch up with you. I do fractional stitches as best as the pattern shows or the picture shows, glad to know there isn't a wrong way. So sorry to hear of a fellow stitcher has passed to the stitching heaven, prayers for all. Until next time take care.

I didn’t know about half stitches going the way of the top leg. I’ve always done half stitches like you did. I wouldn’t worry about the extra row. If it was my project, I would not restart it. But it’s your choice.
@suzanneproulx6145 күн бұрын
I was going to suggest you restart it in a different area like right to left
@lee-annbender55155 күн бұрын

Oh what great progress on Cat Alphabet. I love seeing it come out. Great WIPs. I would say put the Christmas one away for a while then revisit. I personally start things over if i dont like the fabric or feel like i cant fudge it. You dont like the garden chart? Or just wont do it? I would love to add to my stash more jan hicks charts.

Carolyn, hi your rose is beautiful and I watch Sarah's channel and love seeing you two's Montage's. Your ABC cats is so pretty. I am a dog lover but did have a cat who lived 18 years old. He was the best and can't replace him. My Mugsey ❤. But this chart is calling me. Thanks
