Dexter: Resurrection could be 3 or 4 wildly different things.🥸It can be anything from a prison season with Dexter's life behind bars after he's convicted and exposed as the BHB to... Dexter outsmarting everyone and walking away a free man, even with Logan's murder being obvious. Hmmm, I'd say do this: Retcon Logan's murder, it was just Dexter day dreaming. Resurrection starts with him back in his cell and Logan alive. Seeing all the evils things Kurt Caldwell did, Angela decides to forgive Dexter and let him walk. He takes Harrison and flees to California, where he teaches Harrison the code. They both get new identities, rent a house, Dexter gets a job as a nightclub bouncer. The club is actually controlled by the Armenian mafia, which Dexter knows, so this puts him in close proximity to many criminals, he will get to know many secrets, many conspiracies involving murder for hire and human trafficking. The season will feel a lot like old Dexter, but he has an apprentice now. Harrison confesses at some point he killed Hannah and she didn't die of cancer, which Dexter confirms with news reports from Argentina. Dexter forgives him as she did fit the code. Now, Batista comes to Iron Lake too late, Dexter has already left and Angela is now denying that Dexter was the BHB, she tells Batista she was mistaken, she got the MO wrong, she got the ketamine wrong (Dexter coached her on what to say for plausible deniability as Angela did get many details wrong). Batista is not convinced at all anymore, too many coincidences have happened over the years: - LaGuerta accusing Dexter of being the BHB - Dexter killing an inmate in "self-defense", but doing so in a way that seemed way too professional, like he had experience killing people before - another police officer (Angela) independently accusing Dexter of being the BHB - Dexter pulling the plug on Debra (it's confirmed Miami Metro found out in the years that followed) - Dexter messing with the airport to get Elway kicked out (also confirmed by Miami Metro and retroactively explains why Dexter changed his identity) Batista decides that Angela is lying and goes to consult with Joey Quinn, who is now an FBI agent and has wider jurisdiction to act. Quinn initially dismisses Batista's claims as he's talking to him, but his thoughts are filled with flashbacks from the time he suspected Dexter. Quinn knows more than he wants to admit. At home we see him looking at a photo of Dexter and Lumen on the boat as if to say "I knew it all along." Quinn goes after Lumen in Minneapolis, but she refuses to give him up. Quinn lets her walk. He realizes Angela probably won't give him up either so he goes after Audrey, albeit under false pretenses to trick her, since he correctly assumes Angela coached her on what to say if interviewed by police or FBI. Audrey lets it slip that Harrison might be in California, so now Quinn doesn't know much but he has a state. Close to the finale, Dexter and Harrison go after a criminal and sex offender, using the public registry. As they're about to kill him he says "Joey Quinn sends his regards". It's a trap, the "killer" is really an undercover cop and this was all staged by Quinn. Dexter tells Harrison not to kill the cop, they must flee instead. It's too late, the building is surrounded and Dexter and Harrison get cornered by a SWAT team. Harrison is KILLED by the officers as he tries to pull a gun on them, despite Dexter's pleas to just surrender. The confrontation at the station with Quinn and Batista is brutal (emotionally speaking) with Batista having regrets that he didn't believe LaGuerta, Quinn admitting that he always knew Dexter was the BHB and having regrets about not taking action while Debra was still alive, Dexter devasted over losing everyone, including his own son. Ghost Doakes tells him to just confess. He confesses everything to Quinn on the condition that they keep Lumen out of it, which they do. Dexter gets life in prison in a supermax.

@@ToroMontana interesting pitch. The only thing I disagree with this is having Dexter and Harrison flee to California. I understood when you said that you want this season to feel a lot like old Dexter, but at this point I think it’s just too late. The entire season of New Blood had the perfect opportunity to do just that but it failed at doing so. I think it would be better to just start Resurrection where New Blood left off, with Dexter surviving his gunshot wound and narrowing escaping. With Harrison i would have him get caught by the police and brought back to Iron Lake for questioning by the FBI. We could also see Angela getting questioned as to why she let Harrison go, and we could also see a few scenes between Harrison and Audrey, with Audrey demanding Harrison to explain everything that is happening and Harrison withholding information about Dexter. And we could see the FBI and Batista try to pry information from him too. This is what I would do if I were writing Resurrection

@@codysparks1454 It's possible they don't retcon Logan's death and just start with Dexter surving the gunshot, but in that case, Harrison doesn't have anything to fear since Angela took responsibility for the shooting. I think if they go that route, it will either be a prison/court drama season, or Dexter will somehow manage to claim police brutality and get off, while the press is focused on Kurt Caldwell's crimes. It's a bit of a stretch though, I guess we'll see what they have in store. If Dexter escapes as a wanted man, I think he will flee as far away as possible, probably a city like LA where he can blend in (as much as anyone can with cameras everywhere these days). I don't think he'll flee the country though, I think the producers want him in the US.

@@ToroMontana if they do go this route. I hope Dexter doesn’t manage to get off. I like the idea of a prison/court drama season but I think it would be better if it was a manhunt final season. And if Dexter does flee far away, I think it will most likely be back to Miami, because many fans of the original show loved that setting and would love to see it return. So I wouldn’t be surprised if the producers returned him back there

@@codysparks1454 The public opinion now seems to be towards a manhunt season. If Showtime goes that route, I wonder how they will pull it off. Will it have similarities to Prison Break? We'll find out. I'm not opposed to it, but this would be the most expensive option for Showtime because they will have to change many locations. Dexter will not be able to stay in one spot for long if his face is all over the news and social media as a wanted cop killer and possible true BHB. He will have a very hard time finding safe haven anywhere in the world except perhaps a foreign dictatorship that's antagonistic to the US. (Then again, those guys wouldn't want someone like Dexter in their territory either.)
