I think this is the best the film is ever gonna look. We desperately need the Heisei and Millennium films on 4K because those sony blu-rays are outdated and could do with a new transfer/restoration.

I also suspect that some of the missing shorts might be due to some kind of censorship because someone else pointed out that a lot of the wartime episodes were taken out. Like when we were at war with Japan and I know in some of those films the term "Jap" or "Japs" was used by the Stooges, so I'm thinking Sony might have decided to remove those because of all the crazy hate that's been going on thanks to certain orange former president. But that's just my guess on some of the missing shorts. BTW while you are on KZbin you may want to check out a fan made Stooges video where Moe decided to get into politics. Type in the search Moe For President and you should find it. The actors involved do a good job of imitating Larry, Moe, and Curly. LOL

Looking forward to the feature movies. The only movie not included is Snow White and the 3 Stooges, but I already know why it's not included because that movie was done by 20th Century Fox.

Remember the colors are more blue in some scenes and in many dream sequences are intentionally more are specific by the Directors Wes Craven to create the movie as Titled A NIGHTMARE On ELM STREET were intentionally adjusted for the movie is a dream sequences to create That Effect

excellent review. I watched the 4k, and it looked fantastic, color clarity everything, 4k scanned with the original camera negative made the grain look so fine. I grew up with this movie watching it on TV. It’s my favourite in the series, because Freddy is scary - like how he says “this is god” 🫳 - he’s not too talkative as sequels. I’m surprised your parents didn’t let you watch it. my parents didn’t mind, they weren’t concerned about what’s on TV lol.

Ok So I watched your review of this movie before actually seeing the movie. I don’t know man… I really liked this movie I feel there are so many layers to this film…. The one line where the judge tells joker, this is not a stage… then he looks right at the camera…. Technically that's true. But, this is the best way in my opinion since it's in HD and 4:3 unlike the cropped 16:9 Widescreen versions. It's just that this has oversaturated colors, DNR, some zoom in on Episode 1, and a fake layer of grain to hide the lost sharp details that Funimation lost due to the cheap DNR process. But this is the most watchable outside of the original single DVDs.

Film grain preserves the fine detail in the film. Digital Noise Reduction makes the image flat. Mostly waxy for live action films aka Predator ultimate hunter edition, Terminator 2 4k, and Platoon blu-ray. For DBZ, it makes the back round flat, and makes the characters look a bit blurry in some shots. DNR can be used to good uses, but Funimation at the time clearly used a cheap automative way to do it lol. I'm gonna plan to do a new review for this set soon. My opinion has changed over the years lol. Thank You so much for your questions!

Criterion does have the rights to release the Heisei films digitally, hoping they have physical rights too. The only films I'm missing in my collection is Return Of Godzilla, Godzilla VS Biollante, Godzilla VS King Ghidorah and Godzilla VS Mothra because they're out of print so imma wait to see if Criterion releases a set.
