Thanks for this update! I've been following your progress since the kickstarter and can't wait to see what you do next. Such an awesome project. Looking forward to more updates! I'll donate when I can! -Piano teacher from San Diego :)

Very very helpful video. I am making an electronic piano desk, and rather than have a cloth dust cover for it, I am going to use this hardware from an old piano and try to have it slide out and be flush with the desktop. I guess that depends on the size of the cavity below the hinge and behind the keyboard. Thank you for posting.

Very helpful information. Appears my early 70's Grand Spinet never had a fall board or key cover to start with. Have a very Happy New Year.

Lol, using a butter knife for wood glue! I do that too and use old bank cards as well!

Fantastic progress! I've been following your journey ever since a story about it was featured on National Public Radio in the states. It's absolutely fascinating watching you and the team overcoming the various deficits and roadblocks with shear will and passion. This whole thing taps directly into a pet interest of mine: how one would make complex products without the costly heavy industry typically used (not to mention the making of musical instruments). Your dedication and ingenuity are inspiring. I can't wait to see more progress and (eventually) hear the first African made piano! Best of luck!

Thanks so much for letting us know you're enjoying our project. It's slow progress, but we're learning a lot. It's certainly going to get interesting when we start looking at alternatives to felt for piano hammers, but hopefully won't be too long until we can hear what it sounds like. Thanks for following :)
