Looks like a brand new mower. My trans. Pulley and dtive belts had to be replaced at 220 hours. Very bad design.

It was smoking ALOT!!! so thats why i cleaned the filter and changed the oil and the smoke was a white smoke so i thought it was burning oil cause the filter was covered in oil....

I have 1 of these and i cleaned the air filter and changed the oil and it still wont start i checked the spark plug and it was dirty and its not even 6 months old.... I did however mow my field and alot of it was dead so it just blew dust up in yhe air .... Not sure what to do besides take the nut off the carburetor and and clean it.... I do know that when i changed the oil gas was dripping out the primer button so not sure if i flooded the carburetor or what....

I've got an LT2000 in my shop with the opposite problem. It'll move, but once it starts going, it won't stop. I suspect the belt is wrong. It's too tight to the point where the tensioner can't relax the belt enough to stop it from turning
@philliphall5198Ай бұрын
Yep wrong belt, go by the model number not what is on the label under the hood, had same issue too day with customer mower but I caught it before I tried to install Marker pin under hood with correct belt number 😊❤

@@philliphall5198 That's what I did. I looked up by model number and ordered the belt. It matched what's under the hood though but I'm confident the new one is correct

I took bolts out around 2019 and starters were around $263 I’m just now getting around to putting it back together and I guess now the part is around $45. But the bolts WILL NOT GO BACK IN! Cleaned the holes used hydraulic fluid then stripped the bolt. Geez! Such a simple repair gone wrong. Thanks for sharing this!

A commonly overlooked issue: when reinstalling the flywheel cover assembly, pay close attention to how the heat shielding hooks into it. Missing one can/will result in a damaged cooling fan. Don’t ask me how I know.

Based on this video, I think I'll take a stab at it. I was going to call a service to come out but you made it seem humanly possible. Thanks. The armpit hair shot was kinda funny, btw.🤭 UPDATE: I faced it and did it. It was a lot more logical and straightforward than I though it would be. Added, I had to replace one of the intermediary pulley wheels. No biggie. And, no mosquito bites. Thanks, again.

Lifesaver. Your video is so clear, precise, articulate and visually excellent (except for a little bit when you are pulling out the carbie and your shoulder is in the way). You don’t waffle on with unnecessary commentary. It’s not easy to get everything right but you have managed it. Anyway I’ve got mine out and the only question is, what are you spraying into the holes in the carbie?

I went to 4 different places trying to get a belt for my cub. I ended up and got my belt from Tractor supply 21 dollars and some change + tax. The size of the belt: 1/2 x 78 "V" belt if you don't want to buy the expensive belt that Cub Cadet sells. Props on your video! It was more in depth and in line of what I needed to know to replace mine. I was happy that it did not take me as long as I thought it would.

I'm really surprised at how many different versions there are of the Craftsman Lt2000. So many differences. That plastic fan in the back over the drive unit, mine doesn't have. Probably a good idea to take a photo of the routing of the belt before you take the pulleys loose in the middle. Thanks for the video. Every little bit helps.

The fan if for a hydrostatic transmission.
@crude4u19482 ай бұрын
@@charleschapman2428 So if my transmission does NOT have the fan, does that mean it's NOT a hydrostatic transmission? (thanks for your reply).
@charleschapman24282 ай бұрын
@@crude4u1948The Hydrostatic transmission doesn't have gears, most of the time it has forward and reverse and some kind of gas pedal or two pedals. I prefer the gear type transmission, to me it's more Durable compared to the hydrostatic/automatic but over the years they have made improvements on the hydrostatic/automatic . As for your question about the fan, It's common that Hydro/ autos all have a fan but it's possible that the fan can break off. When that happens the trans will most likely run for a short time but eventually overheat and stop moving,
@philliphall5198Ай бұрын
It all depends on the trans that it has and what brand it is I think the VS unit is simply the best and less in repair cost 😊😊😊 Remember people switch hoods also 😢
