I have the exact same thermostat for about 3 years. I just replaced the 2 batteries because the light wouldn't come on. Fantastic unit. Simple to use and I've never had a problem with it.

You unlock it by sliding the red button on side of handle that you pump with your foot.

My parents have one of these Luby ovens just like this one, and its at least 75 to 100 degrees cooler than the setting, meaning it doesnt heat up well at all.

We've never noticed any heating problems with ours. Used it for turkey this Thanksgiving and it did fine. But, again, with these types of small appliances in this price range, there can be an inconsistency. I appreciate your comment. it's good to hear other's experiences with the products.

After researching this i found that the thermostat controls only sense the temperature in the side chamber and not directly in the oven, so if the vents on the side are blocked with things on the counter it will not keep the proper temp. I saw a video on youtube of people trying to correct the low temp by bending a part of the thermostat but the same can be accomplished by bending open the bottom vents alittle more.

How to reset it

Turn the thermostat off. Change the thermostat mode to “Heat” mode. Change the temperature to 3 degrees higher than the room temperature. Press the reset button on the front of the thermostat with a toothpick, paper clip, or pin. Replace the batteries of the thermostat and move its switch to the HEAT or COOL position. Rerun your heating and cooling system.

OR: Turn the thermostat OFF. If the thermostat is battery-powered, remove the batteries. Press the reset button located on the front of the thermostat with a toothpick or a pin.
