I am Dr Shalini As a doctor , I appreciate that you have good point in today's vlog.. As a women two things are needed to be screened Pap smear( a test which is done through examination of genital area& gynecologist will take smear from cervix of female) ..it has to be tested from age of 25years or maximum from age of 35years till max 65years..every three years it's good to do Pap smear ..it's part of Cervical cancer screening Second thing is Breast examination or self breast examination..look your breast atleast three months once infront of mirror..look into their size or any obvious sagging of one breast or pain or lump which gets caught in your hand when you just move your palm of hand over breast..report immediately to your family doctor .. Usually Mammogram can be done as screening from age of 40 years..to be repeated every 2-3years once Ultrasound breast can be done for women below 40years.. For women who has family history of breast cancer, it's good to screen from your family doctor or Family Physician ..they can only suggest a proper work up & follow up advise for further screening.. As Family Physician I feel it's good forum to speak about screening related Breast cancer & cervix cancer..as both can treated & prevented by doing proper screening. And one more advise is about HPV vaccine.Girls & boys(boys can also take this)from age 9-15 years are best candidates to get this vaccine to prevent themselves from getting cervical cancer in future..Discuss with your family doctor regarding this & get this for your daughter & sons..it's best dowry which you can all give to your daughters
