About opening up more riding areas. Conceptually, yes, it could open up new riding areas. But will running generators to recharge the Varg for an extended riding day just create the same noise issue? I know Honda generators are relatively quiet, but the generator the Stark rep used was pretty beefy.

45 minutes of gas to charge a bike to ride for 45 minutes. Sorry I need a clutch to throw my tire. When they design a smart clutch box and allow me to set power levels in each gear that’s when I will buy into this.

Having tried some of these recently myself, I feel like if the Shoei fits you perfect, the Alpinstars just can't. They are so differently shaped that you would need to size up or down at one of them. However, The Shoei is so comfortable you could wear it as a all day Touring ADV Helmet. And that is something I have never sen before on a dirt helmet. (Maybe Arai to a degree) But I guess the Fly and Bell will have the best Airflow and that is so important when you need to stay focused on the trails.

Its a stepping stone. I would equate it to the Yamaha's first 4 stroke motocross bike. Look how far they have come today. This electric bike will evolve too and get better. Battery life and time to recharge is the biggest problem in my opinion.

SV should put a clutch lever on there that electronically limits power level proportional to the amount the lever is pulled in. Also, a "shift lever" to change power settings on the fly with ur foot. 1 down, 5 up. NEAT! (don't forget the swappable battery packs and engine noises). W, Jeff Emig.

Not tested - "tried on" is more like it. They aren't slippers - you have to break helmets to test them properly.

Ride for 15 min and go plug your bike in. This is why gas is still superior.

E bikes are not viable with current battery tech- imagine having to lug around a generator for a 30 minute race....silly. Also throttle control jitters and no clutch- no thanks. How much for a new battery? Safety of lithium batteries in a garage?!?

Battery tech is changing and all this is just milking the tech for money. If the electric motor is lighter then 4 stroke. E bikes will be lightest eventually.

Great review Jeff, I think this will be similar to what RC car racing is with nitro vs electric. Each class has pros and cons and their place too without having to combine them. 😊

What's the jam happenin here?.. you're obviously parting it out for $ but why not sell as a full bike? Are you planning to replace the expensive stuff with cheaper parts? Would leave you with a decent bike and pocket of cash🤷♂️

Maybe for short motos these things are ok but for woods riding the range is waaaay too short. We often do over 100 kms a day when we head out for a ride.
