I’ve used these a few years now in Oklahoma where we get more ice than powder. Combined with my Nitto Ridgegrapplers I’m pretty happy at both on and off road performance.

What about multibar tracks ?
@BryanSchwartz-xh6svАй бұрын
We typically suggest adding 2 per bar until all 150 studs are installed.
@kellykolnes1954Ай бұрын
@BryanSchwartz-xh6sv didn't have enough for that so I ordered more. . The one's that are in work great so far . I never heard or seen how deep you are supposed to put them either.
@BryanSchwartz-xh6svАй бұрын
@@kellykolnes1954 You want to set them where the slots that the tool prongs slide into, are under the rubber. Stop at that point

Where can I buy a set for my front and back tire on my wr250f

Will this void any warranties?
@BryanSchwartz-xh6sv5 ай бұрын
We suggest checking with your local equipment distributor that is carrying your warranty. Thanks for reaching out.
@kellykolnes1954Ай бұрын
@aquab3 negative. Tracks are a wear item. No warranty anyways once you get some hrs on them.

Thanks for the video. With the felt boots are the augers only gripping into the felt (i.e., not connecting into the rubber sole)?
@BryanSchwartz-xh6sv9 ай бұрын
Most felt soles are 3/8-7/16" thick, therefore the auger cutting edge is not likely to make contact with the rubber or retention plate. In the case, you have less than 3/8" thick felt and a retention plate is present, you may need to pilot drill it with an 1/8", however no need it it is going into rubber. FYI, a retention plate is typically a bright colored or black tough plastic layer about and 1/8-3/16" thick located above or below the mid sole material. If you make contact with a retention plate without pre-drilling, you may experience spinning of the stud which in turn causes fraying of the felt.

OK, but vid failed to "install" even one Grip-Stud. Need to see how easy they go in. Does it help to have warm or cold soles? Does it help to heat the Grip-Studs themselves, say, with a Bic-lighter? Does it help to pre-drill a hole? How does one control depth? Are Grip-studs removable? Am considering using them on a thru-hike, where they might be installed at the Trail-head, needed for a month, then removed as weather warms-up and snow disappears. Is it possible? Is it recommended? After all, 28 Grip-Studs plus the tool weigh a fraction of micro-spikes. ...AND Grip-Studs presumably don't slide out from under one's shoes/boots like micro-spikes.

Hi there. We do not see the value in heating the boot sole or the studs unless you are installing them in such cold conditions that the rubber durometer is so hard that you cannot install them. To reach the correct depth, refer to the instructions that come with the studs. Grip Studs are removable, however we do not suggest doing it over and over again in the same rubber sole. Pilot holes are of no advantage unless you are installing Grip Studs into felt bottom wading boots. I hope these answers help you make the right decision. All the best to you.

Question; When you say install in the lug; do you just install them in the outside lug or both inside and outside lugs?

Hi Aaron, you will want to outfit both inside and outside lugs

I’m thinking of putting a washer under the flange of the stud to prevent the stud from going deeper into the tire. Hoping it will also help when removing the studs in the spring. Your thoughts?

What happens if I put studs on all the knobs, or is it even recommended?

You can add studs to each lug if you prefer. It will only amplify your traction.

Wouldn't it be better to drill small holes first, and then screw the studs into hem?
@gripstuds Жыл бұрын
Great question. That is one of the primary advantages of Grip Studs vs other brands. Grip Studs do not require any pre-drilled holes to install them. Our studs are a lot more secure in the rubber by simply installing them into solid lugs.

Kyle, This video was shot with about 150 studs on each tire. Anywhere from 100-150 per tends to work well with motorcycle tires.

Dave, Yep, we actually have a couple of models that are designed for use on snowy/icy roadways! These would be the model #1100 and #1200. Check out our website for more info!
