I also have used car polish or carnuba wax to polish silver after it has been cleaned. It puts a barrier on it.

Should compare to the details you didn't scrub to see how much wear it caused compared to the details you didn't do.

Lots of lovely tea parties , you lucky person. They are not worth a great deal at the moment but if past down another couple of generations will undoubtedly be worth passing down. I have two and I really just like them

I would give those silver items a good polish with Silvo. They may come out as new, or close to it.

I thrifted a used silver plated serving tray, it was extremely tarnished. I cleaned it with a 'non scratch scrubbing gel'. after rinsing I noticed the silver on a few edges were worn away. It may have been that way previously, or it may have happened when I cleaned it. Thats alright, the tray was just $10, I can deal with it. In the past, Ive used toothpaste its very convenient and easy to use. I prefer toothpaste. Although your method appears to be most effective! You should have shown the final polished results. I dont know what soda crystals are or where to get them in the US. 🇺🇸

So, I have a question…if you’re not happy with the end bid on your item, are you obligated to sell it and can you ask for a starting price?
@wardantiques9333 жыл бұрын
You do set a starting price and can set a reserve as well. Once the auction is ended I guess you can cancel the sale, however you would have to pay the fee and your account would probably be blacklisted so a reserve would be the best way to go!

Royal Commemoratives go in and out of favour and the market is flooded however as a Royal commemorative collector myself, I decided to narrow my scope to newer items produced by the Royal Collection (Buckingham Palace Shop) simply because the quality is great and the designs are timeless. I always suggest people watch out for slag glass items commemorating the 1878 landing of the Marquess of Lorne and his wife, Princess Louise (daughter of Queen Victoria) at Halifax, N.S. in Canada where he was installed as Governor General. This range comes in a variety of colours and styles and is becoming scarce.
