Hi Steve. I'd like to add an led strip to the trough area like you have. I have a 12V strip I can use, but would like to know how you wired it in. Nice job here btw. I've always thought adding two spots like you have would work great, now it's certain.
@Steveos-Gameroom5 ай бұрын
You know…. I kinda have forgotten, but what makes sense to me is that I sent a long, long wire from the led strip all the way to the back of the playfield and then down in the bottom of the cabinet, then sent the same wire all the way to the front of the bottom cabinet to the largish sized circuit board below the left flipper (coin door pcb? I tink 12V is printed on the board near the male pin). There is an unused male pin there that is 12 volts DC. I know that it’s a long path to get the voltage, but it was just there and being unused, so I chose it. Now as far as the ground wire for the led strip, I kinda feel like I just found (with my multimeter) a common ground close by the led strip and only sent a short single positive wire. There’s very likely an easier way, but heck, I had the extra wire and I didn’t hack into any used existing 12v. Cheers to you and your project!
@shock_me-gl9tw5 ай бұрын
@@Steveos-Gameroom I see that pin for 12vdc on the board and also a power ground pin. I'm assuming I can use that ground?
@Steveos-Gameroom5 ай бұрын
@@shock_me-gl9tw I believe that should work for your ground. If you have a multimeter you can test it, but I believe it should be a good and solid ground. I usually use little alligator clips to verify good power before finally soldering the connections to their final positions.

After several games these PPP flippers they seem to me to be more accurate and responsive overall. Ball hop seems to me to be less than the factory Sega setup and for an average player (me) they hit the mark and are consistent. They are definitely on the pricey side, but I do feel that the potential of their lasting performance due to their high-tolerance construction edges out the initial coin that I had laid out to get them. Plus.. they look extremely alien in an awesome way. No regrets with this flipper mod. Cheers and happy flipping!!

So pretty quickly after this video was uploaded my deadworld locked up again. I did enough research to realize that a replacement gearbox was an expensive direction. I pulled the gearbox again and soaked it with a combination of carburetor and brake cleaner and then blew it out with air from my shop compressor. I then extensively tested it out on the bench where it then worked phenomenally. Reinstalled it and it's functioning perfect. Fingers are crossed for sure.... But in the back of my mind it's a just ticking time bomb that I'm just waiting for it to say, "sorry that's all folks!" Cheers and good luck with your DW motor issue.

They make shine the vibrant colors of that cool comic art. And the Eagle under iluminated is a very simple and cleaver mod, I will do it with mine!
