ALL DTF transfers use 300 to 310 degrees. Your over cooking your transfers. Too much heat will dull the colors and decrease the bonding to the leather.

Yeah. Big secret. And leather patches on hats are soooo desirable. Pfft.....
@robertgillaspie743519 күн бұрын
So I’m confused. Hybond or the leather cement? Your videos have two recommendations. Wondering which has served you the best? I’ve had an evolving t-shirt company for 9 years with two locations. I’ve missed out on the cap end of the business. I’ve lost a lot of ball teams to other companies doing the whole package. Time to step up. Like my clothing lines. I don’t want anything going out the door to come back. Going DTF has been more costly but since switching from silk screen to DTF. I haven’t had an item come back in 1 1/2 years. I already DTF leather for keychains, wallets, lanyards, headbands and on and on. Thinking the DTF leather patches would knock it out of the park. Thanks for your videos.

Great video! In this video, is the heat press on or off? Meaning are you just using it for even pressure (with it turned off) or are you using it for pressure and heat to adhere the patch to the cap (with it turned on)? Thanks!

In the vid, the hat is being flailed around a lot. It's not clear to me what pattern you are doing, are you going forward one hole on the top, and skipping one on the bottom?

No instructions came with the Lonestar Adhesive. So I used the same numbers that I use for Stahls' patches 320/280 30 seconds. I found out it should have been 45 seconds. That extra 15 seconds is crucial. I let the caps sit 24 hours to cure. I then tried to pull one of the patches off one of the caps. With only MODERATE pulling, the patch came right off. The adhesive did not adhere to the leather. All the glue was baked onto the cap. Huge bummer. Outrageous that Lonestar would not include Instructions with that adhesive. I am beyond pissed.

Those Ultra Color Max transfers on shirts are hot peel after 15 seconds. Why on leather do we cold peel and press a 2nd time. Not being a smartass, I just genuinely want to know what the advantage is.

I hope your sitting down for this one. Painting leather patches is not how we add color. Heat press a DTF transfer to your leather in color

Cool video! DTF is a game changer. You can cut leather on a Cricut using a knife blade. There is a limit to the thickness but it speeds up making shapes 😎

I have also tried sublimation on leather. Must be a light colour leather. Gives a weathered image look.

If you have a cap heat press, you can use double sided HTV film for faster work time and even better adhesion
