Every 4th I go to Wyoming for the 4th and where I stay is a couple miles away from this fly in community where basically the neighborhood all has planes and you can take off from the strip in the neighborhood but there are 3 pilots who privately own 3 f5’s and they fly them around on the 4th it is insane how much adrenaline these planes give you even if your not flying them

Hi Mehbubul, I am a civilian and I have never been in the Air Force or other military. In the US, a civilian can fly jet warbird aircraft like the L-39 with a pilot's license and 1000 hours of total flight time.

great work on the video, and I'm looking forward to the series. I'm flying an L-39 next month out of Traverse City, Michigan, and am trying to sort out how to record audio and video. Could you share some details on the cameras used, mounting methods, and how you captured the cockpit audio? I'm especially interested in the external camera. thanks!!
@speedbrake2 жыл бұрын
Thanks... I'll be in Traverse City the weekend before Oshkosh. Lots of details on the cameras & audio.. can you contact me at my email address in the About section of my channel and I'll send you the details or get on the phone with you. The short version is for audio I use a cable that plugs into the plane and the other end is a 1/8" headphone jack that goes into an old iPhone that has a headphone jack, and I use the app Voice Record Pro. GoPro audio is just too unreliable, and if the camera overheats, you lose audio, etc. The external cam is a GoPro Max with a certain mount and a cage, all metal, no plastic.

Amazing congratulations on your purchase. I hope to be able to buy one of these in the future. Do you have a video on the cost of ownership on one of these?
@speedbrake2 жыл бұрын
I don't have a video covering costs.. it would be a good one. For current L-39's for sale check out www.code1aviation.com/aircraft-listings-for-sale or controller.com. They burn around 150 gallons of Jet-A fuel per hour in cruise (60 gph at idle, 300 gph at takeoff).. annual inspection probably $15k and up depending on what needs to be fixed and who does it. Insurance ain't cheap either.
@KevinMcMullen.2 жыл бұрын
@@speedbrake Yeah it seems every hobby worth getting into is fairly costly. I heard of one of those sites but not the other two. I will check them out I appreciate the help. Great videos by the way. Would you say yearly costs are around 50k a year?
@speedbrake2 жыл бұрын
@@KevinMcMullen. At least that, probably more.. a good target is to fly 50 hours per year, so that alone could be $50k, depending on the price of fuel. Also factor in hangar space, which could range a lot depending on location.
