Peter Noone is clueless about the songs meaning. You can tell by the way he performs the song.

Sorry to cause upset but Mary Hopkin' was quite a boring singer, had a voice of an average school girl, and tried to sell herself as an angelic pure virgin type of personality, and it looks like a lot of people bought into her presentation, but I thought, she's just a preety face, doesn't deserve pop star status, she's just plain and simple miss average,

Call to Television technical historian anoraks out there. This was an ATV production with an American host. So it was quite likely aimed at Lew Grade’s preferred market. I would assume it was recorded at Elstree, which could work NTSC/PAL. It’s interesting that the VT clock at the beginning said that the recording was PAL. I noticed a couple of off-locks during the video; not usually a Quad VTR-type fault, more helical. I wonder what the history of the archiving of this clip is. Lastly (sorry), the little bits of inlay looked good. ATV had just begun using Ultimatte for CSO by this time, I wonder if it was used here. And yes, I do appreciate the music as well, but all of a production adds up to the time in history that bore it to us.
