Zareth Shahara: I agree with you wholeheartedly about all but the "worst bartender" part. He was hands down the best bartender Toot's in Crockett ever had. Ask anybody. Thanks for your thoughtful comment. He was my friend.

No doubt! He was a personal friend and had constant contact. Too many funny stories. Ask his daughter...we recorded a great song on her Fisher Price kareoke cassette machine.

Too bad the vocals need to be louder/fuller! Not your fault, great band though.

What can one say, it's just a glorious combination Mr. Junior and Mr. Nemeth and of course the great rhythm section. Oozes soul. Bless my soul there are still musicians out there that know that pacing and phrasing is 100 times more important then a million notes.

This is a real good Harmonica Blues sound - the old boogie riff, with a warm amplified harp ... This really warms up a monk's cold cold heart!

Besides being one of the best bassists, worst bartenders & nicest guys you ever met, he was the funniest human being I think I ever met. He had a laugh that would tickle you just watching him have a good one - usually at the expense of the fools, which Fly never suffered gladly. I saw him straight up get in a gangster's face in LA because he had on a Michael Vick jersey (when he got busted for dog fighting) & tell the guy what he thought about it all. He ALWAYS told you 'the truth.' RIP Fly

I've only seen this incarnation of the band once, but I saw 'em with Charlie 2-3 times in Tampa, once in Ft. Lauderdale, once in Tallahassee, and once in Buffalo N.Y. It's fair to say I dig these guys!

Paris Slim is awesome, the real stuff in a fine french tailored suit, paid his dues long ago in Oakland at Eli's Mile HIgh Club. Played with west coast greats like Big Mama Thornton, Lowell Fulson, Pee Wee Crayton and Jimmy McCracklin. He even sat down with the Boogie Man. I wish him the best!

Just saw Rick and his band on Friday night at Biscuit and Blues(8.24.12). Having watched him so many times since the early 80s (with Little Charlie), it's truly a religious experience to witness the evolution and arc of his hallowed career! Rick Estrin is a true American Original...
