I'm very frustrated by money and time when it comes to working out too. I also have the time, but money is a big barrier. I know exercise is sooooo good for you, but it's inaccessible at times.
@ashleyxnicol22 сағат бұрын
yes, yes, yes! for example, walking. people are always like, "walking is free." but i have a fear of public places and i don't feel safe where i live. so something as simple as that is inaccessible. not only do i need to be spending my money elsewhere, i don't like the feeling of gyms. i don't like being around people when i'm feeling vulnerable in that way. it's *so* hard to find exercise that works for you.
@Cowinky6 күн бұрын
Can very much relate with the work boredom and then feeling like you have unspent energy. I also recently started exercising and find it does help but the boredom whilst I’m at work makes it so hard! I wish I could be do other things whilst I was there!

it is incredibly hard, because you feel privileged to even say your job is boring but also it’s maddening 🥴

I don't have any social media either for the same reasons. I just use KZbin (I'm at 15 minutes into the video)- I also feel disconnected. I wish there were platforms designed for people who want to connect that don't want to commit to social media (and the psychological and sensory problems therein). I find that video essays on KZbin are like "news" for me even though I watch them rarely from a select few KZbinrs I genuinely vibe with (the chronically online series by Nicole Rafiee being one). I wanted to say thank you for making these vlogs- you are officially my comfort KZbinr. I have been going through your 2024 vlogs playlist and watching all of them from the beginning. Happy belated Birthday!!

Good to see a new video from you. Love hearing your thoughts ❤ I read Icebreaker earlier this year and landed on the same rating you did. It was a cute and fun read for the most part but way too long. I am not a fan of these overly long romance books coming out. I think the Dark Romance subgenre is really having their moment and that helped Butcher and Blackbird be successful. I also think it was a book of the month add-on, which helps.
@ashleyxnicolАй бұрын
happy to have you here ♥️ i think a long book is warranted if it’s something like a paranormal/fantasy romance that’s cramming a ton of world building in. but if it’s just a contemporary where Becky is a librarian and Greg is a finance bro, I don’t need all that exposition, ya know? 😂 i honestly love the boom of dark romance, as an avid reader & lover, but it’s still shocking to me when they start making their rounds because people have such rigid ideals of romance.

Such a fun video! As a Ali Hazelwood fan I loved watching you go on this journey. She does have that fun silly way of writing that just has me laughing and swooning. I just read Not In Love and I personally loved it but I understand it's not for everyone and not everyone was a fan of this one. Would love to see more videos like this where you give an author another try or read a bit of an author's backlist ❤

hi love. today is the first time i stumble into your channel and i started watching your previous videos. this was god-sent. have been feeling a lot of guilt lately because i have been "slacking" in everything in my life; my studying in college, my social life, my workouts, my appeareance and my eating habits. i know it's because i'm going through various stressfull things in my life, on top of dealing with severe OCD, but your video has really allowed me to take a breather and understand yet again that i'm not alone, that i'm doing my best, and that i can get to the other side of this. i don't usually trauma dump in people's comment sections, but i know you may read this, so i wanted to let you know that you are beautiful, so very loved and enough. your distressing thoughts and bad weeks and insecurities do not define the wonderful soul i know you are. i know this comment will probably not stick in your head for very long and you'll probably think i'm lying because i'm just a stranger on the internet who left you a random message on a random day. but at least i could say what i wanted to say. i hope everything gets better soon for all of us. take care ❤
@ashleyxnicol2 ай бұрын
first of all, i am so *so* happy that you stumbled on my channel. thank you for your lovely words, and thank you for sharing your heart with me. secondly, guilt is a valid feeling- especially when "hustle culture" and toxic productivity are fed to us in our baby bottles- but, i just want to reiterate, *the work you are doing to deal with stressful things, your ocd, etc. are just as important and just as much work as your studying, your exercise, and all the other things you listed as feeling guilty about not doing.* when your brain is telling you that you aren't doing enough, that you're lazy, that you're falling behind, I want you to remember that *mental health is work too.* you only have your 1 brain, your 1 body, and maintaining that is more important than the effort you give to the world. thank you for leaving your comment and i hope you are taking care of yourself *the way you deserve.*

What I've learned is that it's all trauma symptoms. I've tried it all, and the only actually effective trauma healing method in my experience was doing mushroom trips. Of course do your own research. ❤ for more on why this is all trauma symptoms, I recommend the book The Body Keeps The Score, or for like abusive family systems, the book CPTSD from surviving to thriving.

Yes, love this style of video! Bridgerton is amazing! I think its better if you haven't read the books or if you're able to separate the two as they are going in different directions with the show. I am a huge fan of the show, for sure! And the way I squealed when you started talking about the Challenge. I have become obsessed with that show this past year. Now I have to know, who is your favorite challenger? Lol 😂 One Dark Window is soooo good. I hope you enjoy it!

i’ve got PMDD too, im so sorry. i feel your pain. it’s horrible - i only just noticed the connection at 27 because my endocrinologist is brilliant and had written a book about it. im in aus and he’s from the UK. i was born without a thyroid so my hormones already needed to be monitored and after id read multiple of his books i was like holy shiiiiit that makes so much sense. unfortunately so many treatments haven’t worked for me. i only just managed to get off my old antidepressant after 10 years and change to effexor, helps a bit. but i started yaz at the beginning of may and ive already had my third period and im in so much pain i could pass out and be sick. it’s horrible living with this. going to have to try levlen again. my endocrinologist knows im a tricky case, allergic to ssris, no thyroid, have to get compounded thyroid medication & vitamins. anaemic. constantly fluctuating hormones. sensitive to medications and have a lengthy list of mental health diagnoses, hypothyroidism, fnd with seizures, pots, eczema, as well as pmdd. im in pain right now so theres probably things ive forgotten. things got worse lately, left an abusive household and moved back to my estranged mothers, lost my job, failed a masters subject. my mental health is completely deteriorating.

wow, this sounds incredibly difficult. you’re staggeringly strong and resilient for choosing to live- and find better for yourself- in the face of it all. health issues are very isolating experiences, and the more you have the more isolating it becomes, so I desperately hope you have found yourself a loving support system- or at the very least a comforting thing to fall back on. constant pain is indescribable. i’m happy you have your endo doctor, who sounds brilliant and supportive. i hope you can celebrate the little things when they come, cry when you need to, and give yourself the grace & love you deserve. thank you for sharing your heart with me ♥️
