Hi nice simple overview of the kit. What do you mean by the Tom’s machine gun effect? Does it trigger multiple shots in one stroke? Or are you referring to the physical pad impact sounds? Great video and thx in advance.
@val_de_mez
@val_de_mez 10 ай бұрын
Thank you. It was referring to the sound. Out of the box on some of the kits the attack of the samples is way too strong and you'd mostly notice it on the toms if you doing some fast fill. But 2y later I can tell you it's not a big deal you can adjust the attack in the module itself, there is quite a bit tweaking that can be done so I wouldn't worry about it anymore. (I did this quick review like 2 weeks after I bought it so you know) :-D I'm gonna do 'after 2 years does it still hold up - before you buy' sort of deeper review to update. Cheers 🍻

By chance do you also play an acoustic kit? How’s the response of the hi hat on this kit?
@val_de_mez
@val_de_mez Жыл бұрын
It's incredibly good for electronic drum. Very sensitive, 2 centres, it recognizes at least five positions (at least as far as I can tell) of open/close, which is really damn cool. Only downside is it is one piece and of course it's a rubber so feels 3a bit differently when hit. However pedal etc. is literary same as acoustic. I can't stress enough how much of a pleasant surprise it was.

I think its the 'Steel Ring', either that 2nd one or one of the few first metal ones (as in when you hit your toms you'll immediately think - Enter Sandman) don't remember exactly because I did a lot of tweaking back and forth on it.

Honestly after a year, it is absolutely fine. And I live in apartment building (they are some sensitive people here let me tell you) and yet no trouble whatsoever. You're good to go dude. However if you still felt uncertain there are few simple tricks how to make it a lot quieter still, look for 65drum or Vdrum channels specially the Vdrum is German guy who does manuals for shit like that. Dtx10 pro or roland td50k2?can you help me choose 👌
@val_de_mez
@val_de_mez 2 жыл бұрын
If I try to be objective about, I'd say go Roland. Seems to me TD50 is superior in every way. Snare/ride/hihat digital are top of the industry. Roland is undisputed king of edrum world and buying new accessories etc. will be a lot easier. There is only two thigs Yamaha DTX10 might be better at - sound and feel. Gotta try 'em out for yourself as this might be a minor or a major issue depending what you are looking for in a edrum set particularly Roland sounds are hilarious in my opinion and Yamaha totally nails it. (At least as far as modules sounds go, sure everything sound shit against SD3 or ED). People say the TSC on these Yamahas feels amazing. Btw. I might do a comparison video on these as I have access to them Roland edrums and quite a few people have been asking about similar questions. So,.. stay tuned ;)

Hi! I'm thinking about getting this Yamaha or the Roland VAD 306 and I can't decide, really! My main complaint with the Yamaha is that I've heard that the kick drum triggering is not very effective with two pedals, but I'd love to know your opinion. Are you satisfied with this kit, some issue? I've had a DTXplorer for about 10 years (that's why I trust Yamaha as a company!) and I feel it's time for a change. Thanks in advance!
@val_de_mez
@val_de_mez 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to disappoint, but I don't use double pedal. If I had, I'd upgrade the kick tower to anything - mesh and 10inch at least. VAD306 huh? Lol, that's a serious dilemma right there. What swayed me on Yamaha's side was: + Consistent sizes, everything relates to each other 12,10,13,15,13. Unlike VAD's nice toms, snare with two little nipples hanging over them.. + Yamaha sounds great. Can't stand Roland super amazing star trek technology modul, sounds like a bucket. + I've seen VAD wobble a lot. Meanwhile my yamaha could teach my washing machine how to stand still. + Also I'm such an shallow human being I totally went for looks. This baby LOOKS AMAZING, invites you to jump on her, you know what I mean. Good luck with deciding :-D took me awhile too.

@val_de_mez

The jump from TD17kvx to this (in here anyway) is about 700/800$. Definetely worth the upgrades. Depends, aren't gonna regret a bit not spending little extra, when finding out how td17 wobbles, sounds, etc.. If you were thinking TD27 vs this it would not be so clear. But this is.

Consider VAD306/506 except its roland sounds it's probably closest to this yamaha. Sturdy rack, td17 module, looks great, 12,10 inch pads. Solid stuff too. (Such a dilemma I had before choosing this one, lol)
@jas_bataille
@jas_bataille 2 жыл бұрын
@@sig310 A lot of stuff are back-ordered because of chips shortage. There are some great options by Pintech in their discount section, lifetime warranty and all!! You do need to purchase the module and cymbals separately tho, so it can become expensive. Pintech are the best of the best, they worked for Def Leppard and many other big acts on tour for years. But it can become real expensive if you want the whole thing with the cymbals and all, minus the drum module - they don't make one, sadly enough. Roland sound is great, but Yamaha feel is better, and sound just as good IMHO. Also Roland put a ton of unnatural reverb on their presets those days. What's the point of buying the Cadillac of e-drums, supposed to be so close to the real thing, when it's loaded with presets that sounds unnatural...?!

@val_de_mez
@val_de_mez 2 жыл бұрын
Depends what features do you prioritize. 65drums channel's got some great comparison videos on all types of drumsets. For me personally, to sum it up quick I'd have to say - Alesis is cheap, lower quality but flashy and very cool, real size drumset with decent sounds. And yamaha is solid, undisputed quality, reliable drumset with great sounds (That does look amazing with the real wood shells)
