I find it significant that the matches Portia made for her daughters (or let her daughters make) were wjith men that were kind and truely cared. She did do better by her daughters. She also kept them close after they married because they were kind of idiots😂

Violet and Portia tries to do similar things but it's an age old trope of new money vs old. Both wants to protect their children, help them marry, and cover up their family secrets. But they do it in very different ways. Which I love.

I love Violet so much, this is definately one of my favourite moments in the series. It shows that women weren't as powerless back then as we have been led to believe.
