Did you walk from Kalgoorlie Railway Station? If so, how long did it take. Thanks for the great videos!
@AussieJetSetter4 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching Tim. I did indeed walk to the airport but it was from a closer part of the city so took about an hour. You’ll be looking at about 1h20 from train station
@maxplanck90555 күн бұрын
Australian trains between cities are slow, 10 hours for a journey to Melbourne from Adelaide is not a service you should pay for, a normal service would be 5 hours at most, it’s a car in reverse speed at 10 hours journey,Australians deserve better,160 kph would be a moderate improvement for city to city train service ✌️❤️🇬🇧
@AussieJetSetter4 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. You are certainly not wrong this was a very long and at times slow trip. Maybe check out my Prospector review to Kalgoorlie which I believe is fastest average speed passenger train in Australia maxing out at 160 km and doing the 653km journey in about 7 hours.

My wife and I flew from Auckland to Norfolk Island a few weeks ago; the flight to Norfolk was in an ATR72 and the return flight was in a SAAB 340 a week later. Both flights were enjoyable and the crew on both flights were very friendly. Neither flight was full so there would be no point in using larger aircraft with full meal service etc., I think most people can survive for a bit under 3 hours without needing a cooked meal. BTW, the island is pronounced Norf’k, not Nor-folk.

Certainly is reminds me exactly of what it was like in my first flight with Tiger Airways Perth to Singapore to Bangkok in 2008! Only difference then was the overhead bins also had advertising!

Can't wait to really get this channel up and going should be a lot of fun! Feel free to check it out by visiting the following link! www.youtube.com/@4KPERTHAVIATION Cheers, Stephen

The inflight menu is certainly pretty steep! Think I might have to go without food if I was on board 😅. Another great insightful review mate, I wouldn't be surprised if they left the old tiger air seat configuration with how cramped you noticed it was.
@AussieJetSetter21 күн бұрын
Thanks mate, glad you thought it was insightful! Yeah very overpriced and quite ordinary menu too in my opinion!

I was 1kg over on my carry on luggage and was charged $75 from Syd - Melb. Another example of the Qantas group price gouging and the ACCC should look into this to justify this charge. The whole ticket was $99 lol😂. I have written a complaint and will never fly with the Qantas group again!
@AussieJetSetter21 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching yeah that defs sounds very overkill indeed even if technically it was there policy! Always a good idea to 'wear' a few items from the carryon if going be close to the limit!

Did this shocker on the Perth to Hobart run 2 weeks ago 🤦. We took off from the short runway with a full load and had to stop in Adelaide for fuel , before heading onto Hobart.
@AussieJetSetter22 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. That would have been quite a slog on one of Australia’s longest flights! I remember flying Perth to Hobart on Qantas back in 2021 certainly would have been a more comfortable expeirence!
@linhofmann491322 күн бұрын
@@AussieJetSetter I also recently did Jetstar A321 Neo between Perth and Sydney and back . I paid for exit row seats and to be honest I will just keep choosing to do that between Perth and the East coast , even though it's Jetstar it beats the crappy old Qantas and Virgin offerings
@AussieJetSetter22 күн бұрын
Yeah absolutely can’t go wrong giving a little bit back to select an exit row on JQ A321neo! Only just saw your part about happening to stop in Adelaide for a fuel⛽️ watch a farce for a domestic flight on a jet almost unheard of it in Australia I would think!

@ yeah it was good I've never heard of Tiger Air before
@justthatguy994623 күн бұрын
Virgin Australia have reconfigured some/all(?) of their A320s to a 180 seat configuration, whilst still retaining the old TigerAir padded seats (which make a huge difference to legroom). They have jammed an extra row in before the exits, and two extra rows after the exits. I'm surprised how quiet they have managed to keep it, given how uncomfortable it makes the planes. Reason I am not sure about all is that I flew on one of the old variants from Broome a few weeks ago, but think that plane is now in Seletar (and maybe getting seats added??).
@AussieJetSetter23 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. Yes it’s a bit confusing seat guru did seem to suggest less seats but it defs felt very cramped to me. I wasn’t really aware they previously had less seats so thanks for sharing this information. I do believe Skywest used to have one A320 which they even took for a spin up to Bali from Port Headland and from Kalgoorlie to Melbourne which I assume VA took ownership off after the takeover. Maybe that is the aircraft with less seats although it may of been retired by now? Cheers Stephen

wow that flight looks cool. Did you check in a bag? Were they strict with the checked baggage weight. How would you rate the food and customer service from one to ten
@AussieJetSetter23 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. Yeah overall a very decent experience. No issues checking a bag as I wasn’t even close to the allowance. Food wasn’t anything mind blowing but it was perfectly fine and reasonable well portioned too. Inflight crew were really good and efficient although bag drop was a bit slow waiting to be assisted when for some reason the self service bag drop were only accepting luggage for the Dubai and not the Melbourne flight it seemed. Overall defs a good way to fly between Singapore and Melbourne a shame it’s coming to end soon though!

But if you know when you're travelling, and not re-scheduling your flight 15 times like you, the max bundle extra cost is not necessary. Just get the premium.

Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion. It certainly isn’t needed for all I agree but for someone whom may occasionally like to snag a really cheap sale fare I don’t mind adding the extra inclusions and flexibility to cancel for a credit in case plans fall through.
