My home town, family been there since WW2 as part of the old original local fishing and canning industry. Used to be a tiny little fishing village, where everyone knew each other and the families. We left Mandurah in the mid 80's when the population had "exploded" to around 20 000 people, which we considered was getting WAY too crowded 😂 Now living out in the country in a small rural town with a population of around 17000, but still visit Mandurah quite regularly. Certainly looks nothing like the little village that we grew up in, has grown massively in the past 20 odd years and still growing with more and more coastal scrub/sand dunes being cleared for housing developments 😢

Biggest issue with Scoot is their complete lack of reliability and customer service if something goes wrong - they just let you hang out to dry, literally. In total AirAsia is the far better option, more reliable, better client service and on longer flights they even offer lie flat. Scoot Plus at best compares to a Premium Economy deal (without the service) - by no means an Asian business class offering.

I think between Perth and Singapore it really pays to just keep on top of which airlines have good prices, throughout the year. Singapore Airlines had great fares available recently , Qantas too have had some good prices , Jetstar yup also good prices and Scoot I find to be hit and miss, it can cheap and it can also be pricey for what you get. Anyhow loved the video.....I'm off to Singapore on SQ on Christmas Day ( $605 return in economy ..mega cheap).
@AussieJetSetter23 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching Lin. A very fair assessment of the pricing on this route indeed. $605 return is a great deal in this day and age! When I reviewed Qantas last year to Singapore I also got a fantastic deal for $598 return! When I did the Jetstar inaugural up to Singapore on the A321neo earlier in the year that was only about $150 :). Have a good time up there over Christmas 🎄 Cheers Stephen

Flew them from SIN to NRT late last year and also had a solid experience! The ScootPlus ticket was priced the same as an SQ economy ticket at around 380 euros, and I felt like I made the right choice! Flight was on-time, priority check-in was smooth, luggage included, better legroom than an economy flight and a comfy recliner seat. In general whenever you have a good pricing deal on these seats you get to enjoy a very solid product! Great review!
@AussieJetSetter24 күн бұрын
Thanks mate glad you had a great experience on scoot. A pretty fair assessment of the product there I think from yourself. For me too I also found ScootPlus to quite unbelievably be significantly cheaper than SQ economy and still cheaper than Qantas too. Think only flying one way though does push up the price a lot on SQ however so the difference would be far less drastic for a return flight.

@AussieJetSetter25 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and the feedback @thewindowseat77. I think Scoot rebranded the product around about 2019 in response to customer feedback to better reflect the product and to temper expectations. On balance I think it was probably the right call 👍

The 2023 stats I was looking at said 12,164,667 which was a 44% increase on previous year but just looked at Perth Airport’s updated stats on the website and it’s something closer to what you said. Some stats must use calendar year and others financial year maybe that explains the discrepancy. But going forward I’ll try and use Perth Airport’s website and their financial year stats which I think is what you are referring too. Cheers Stephen

I was grateful to have a chance to fly their Economy. I wouldn’t say it was too bad but there certainly was some things that they could improve on, such as headrests for economy, but overall it was a great experience, I would most likely fly them again if it meant that I could save money.

Nice review. How do they compare to Singapore B787s, which they deploy to Perth? Also, Emirates is deploying their 777-300s, so you might want to review that. Anyway, good review as always!
@AussieJetSetter27 күн бұрын
Thanks mate. Thrilled you enjoyed it! Can’t compare to the SIA 787 as last time I flew SIA was way before the A350s and 787s came on board. I think it was A330s and 777 back then! Have reviewed the Emirates 777 from Singapore to Melbourne so may wish to check that one out if it interests you. But yeah great that the second service is coming back to Perth with the 777, remember when Emirates were actually doing triple daily from Perth to Dubai! 😃 Cheers Stephen

I haven’t flown Singapore’s 787 but I have flown Scoot’s 787s. The seating configuration for economy is pretty much the usual for a 787 and legroom is fairly average. The only downside I found that it is nearly impossible to get a good night’s rest on the red eye to Singapore with the lack of proper headrests in all of the cabin, with Scoot in silence and the bulkhead rows only ones with them

Australian trains between cities are slow, 10 hours for a journey to Melbourne from Adelaide is not a service you should pay for, a normal service would be 5 hours at most, it’s a car in reverse speed at 10 hours journey,Australians deserve better,160 kph would be a moderate improvement for city to city train service ✌️❤️🇬🇧
