Why not say "SOG has serious quality control issues"?
@FrankTerranova111 күн бұрын
Fortunately I have been into "The Way of EDC" since the early 2000’s. Even though many EDC pundits did not like the Leatherman Juice series, I bought a couple each of the S2, CS4, and XE6. I saw a good sale on a Chinese site & bought a couple of the SOG PowerPints & PowerLitres as I am a believer in EDC Kits which I keep in my Bags (Backpack, Shoulderbags (AKA Messenger Bags), Sling Bags, and a Waist Pack). Yes, the SOG Power series pliers are good, but I still prefer the tool set on the Juice series. BTW - I still keep Leatherman Waves or Charges in my EDC Tool Kits for my primary bags (called Secondary EDCs by some EDC Pundit on KZbin. (Primary: On your person, and Tertiary in your vehicle.) Oh. a Leatherman Skeletool lives in my SCOTTeVEST. 🤷♂️ We’ll see how often a SOG Power tool get into use out of my fifth pocket instead of my old Leatherman Squirt PS4s (which are now 3x the original price on eBay). 😮

Its a good way to feel lien you own high end products but without paying the price for high end stuff. And i have yet to find any that didn’t feel super high quality. Im always a cheap option kind of guy. I did mine myself in five hours, but i don't like working with people
@C_Bake22113 күн бұрын
How were you able to do it yourself if you don’t mind me asking? I’m most likely going to do mine myself as well but it seems you would at least need a second person to hold things up while the first installs.
@jasonhorsley682013 күн бұрын
@C_Bake221 once the two post are connected I braced them. Then put my front and backs on and tied it together. Once you get the perimeter it'll stay without braces. I actually screwed my braces to the post, but I put them where I was going to hang some signs. That way there wouldn't be holes in the post for no reason. Could fill them with wood filler as well.
@C_Bake22112 күн бұрын
@@jasonhorsley6820 Thanks for the reply. Yeah I figured you braced with something. What did you use to brace? 2x4s? I’m not a fan of putting unnecessary holes in the posts tho so still kinda leaves me 🤔
@jasonhorsley682012 күн бұрын
@C_Bake221 I used 2*4s I agree but doing it yourself is a give and take situation. I did pre-plan the holes for later use, but yes I would have definitely preferred not having to go that route. Still turned out great though. Surprisingly the screws I used you couldn't even see where they were when I took the braces out. Well hardly noticeable. If you can get another set of hands that's the best route.

Even with aligning the red tabs, I always seem to have access in all the corners where the velcro line doesn't lay smooth and has like a gap. Have you run into this and if so, how do you smooth it out. Mine is the T4 bought brand new in 2021.

I have to be doing some tough trails, but one will open and I can hear it sliding and hitting the back of the liftgate. No issue for me as they are covered in carpet.
