We see this family often... they frequent our fields with the offspring. It would be nice to have a cam again... Living right next to Smith rock is our heaven which I do have videos of one and a falcon and also grabbing a rock chuck and flying.. Thank you for the video

Hi Mary, unfortunately this happens when the chicks start competing for food one of the chicks kills it's sibling. Once a chick dies the parents discard it from the nest.
