I can't believe I met an international pro triathlete riding her bike at a Deming, New Mexico donut shop. Just speaking with her renewed my interest in cycling and motivated me to ride more. Good luck Liz and I hope you found that 17 degree hill for your training ride!

This bike course sucks balls … roads are rubbish and the course is designed for mountain goats. Poorly designed and a course that will see less and less people return to complete it. Port Macquarie lovely place just a shit place to ride a bike.

Yep, it's 70.3 miles total - approximately a half Ironman

I ran most of the marathon with Elizabeth from Canada. She is a machine. She left me for dead on the last 6km. 106 Ironmans what a legend and honour to have shared the course with you Elizabeth.

Entered 2011 for 2012 Ironnman would have been my first Ironman event then a weather bomb came through ended being a half was still special came back 2013 to do my first event

I remember seeing Crocadile Dundee use one in the second movie and yelled PUREREHUA (I’ve always loved the sounds they make) then was explained the aboriginals have the bullroarer. Mind blown and I was like “you know what… you aren’t bad you mob”

I love watching the emotion on the ironman athletes faces as they run down the finish chute and run across the line, particularly the Age Group competitors. Makes the hair stand up on my neck and reduces me to tears of joy sometimes. Watching the supreme effort, the emotion of finishing something gruelling and tough, taking on a challenge and conquering it and the human spirit in action is just one the worlds most wonderful things.
