Hi can I take rav4 to truso valley route? Howz greenery and animals in august? Is there rain?
@sniech3 ай бұрын
Hi, I would say the RAV4 should be fine; we were driving with a Ford Escape. A high ground clearance is helpful, but the road is not terrible. The most tricky part is passing other cars coming from the opposite direction. As for animals - dogs, dogs, and dogs :) I haven’t seen any other animals there. The weather you can see in the video - there were some cloudy/rainy days, but most of the time the weather was great.
@saeedas26603 ай бұрын
@@sniech oh only dogs. Are there no horses or sheeps.? 😕 Thanks for the info. We are going on 12th August.
@sniech3 ай бұрын
@@saeedas2660 there are horses; we saw some especially in the Svaneti region, but they are not wild. They carry tourists towards the glacier in Ushguli for a fee. As for the trail to the Koruldi lakes, we encountered quite a few cows, even in the higher parts of the mountains. However, wild dogs are the most noticeable, often accompanying groups even on several-hour treks. The ones we met were very friendly. I wish you a great trip; you will definitely not be disappointed!

@sniech Hey there, this is so beautiful! How many days did you take to cover these destinations? I have 12 days/ 11 nights, which places amongst these would you recommend for this duration in 3rd and 4th weeks of August?
@sniech3 ай бұрын
Hi, we spent 11 nights in Georgia, from the 19th to the 30th of August. I definitely recommend visiting the mountainous regions of Svaneti and Kazbegi. The Truso Valley is also worth a visit. While other places are great too, these were my personal favorites. If you enjoy history, I can recommend the Vardzia cave monastery, though it is a bit far from the regions mentioned above. For beaches and sunbathing, you might want to visit the Batumi region. We didn't go there ourselves, as other parts of Georgia seemed more interesting to us.
@shilluster4 ай бұрын
nice video thanks for upload, can you please let us know how how is Georgia in August
@sniech4 ай бұрын
In August, you can visit more remote regions like Svanetia or Kazbegi, as there is no snow at high altitudes. It is definitely a good month to visit, with clear skies and accessible trails allowing for beautiful hikes and exploration.

How was the weather . Is it enjoyable in August
@sniech4 ай бұрын
Hi, the weather was very good. I think only one day was rainy and another was cloudy. Apart from that, the rest of the 10 days were nice and warm. Of course, the higher you go in altitude (regions like Svanetia, for example) it can get a bit colder than the areas close to the sea.

Thank you for your kind words. I am sure you will enjoy your stay. Malta's short distances to all interesting places were a perfect fit, especially for our almost 2-year-old. In comparison, our road trip in mainland Greece in October (you can also find a video from there on my channel) was also enjoyable, though it involved several hours a day spent in the car.

I understood - the whole place is ruinous, full of obliterated Benedictine culture, disused railway lines, coastal resorts slipping into the sea and deposed county towns prone to deluge, and dependent on central government handouts.

Not exactly. I only saw a few places during my quick 2-day trip to Yorkshire. There's a lot more to explore, like the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, the awe-inspiring Castle Howard, lively cities like Leeds, scenic spots like Malham Cove. Even if history isn't your thing, there's something for everyone in Yorkshire. It's worth checking out!
@1258-Eckhart11 ай бұрын
That's an astonishingly kind reply to my curmudgeonliness. I have Yorkshire genes, so I'm allowed to be a curmudgeon. The only bit of Yorkshire I know which maintains something approaching true Yorkshire culture is the Calder Valley (Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge, Todmorden etc.). Try the Dock Pudding, a real Yorkshire dish. Haworth isn't far away and the ride there is scenic. @@sniech

The weather was very nice. Warm and sunny. Evenings at Wadi Rum desert were colder, you would probably need a blouse or a light jacket, especially when driving on the outside seat of the van :) The last day in Amman was also quite cold and rainy. So in general the rule is: the more to the South, the better the weather is.

Hi Heather. Both lakes are amazing and the best idea is to visit and see both, when you have the time. :) However, if I would have just one day, I would’ve gone to one of Como’s cities (Varenna, Menaggio or Bellagio) as you can easily travel between them by ferry. It is definitely doable within a single day. :)
