In an Islamic Economic system if the objective is not profit, then how does one become rich enough to pay Zakat on his wealth? Why would one go into business if he is not motivated to make profit from that business?

Hello Steve! Please note that Islam doesn't prohibit profit. Islam prohibits Interest or investments in prohibited businesses.
