If you can’t make it to 60 as a hunter with vanilla wow experience , you should stick to everquest.

you shouldn't do auto shot before serpent sting, it just wastes a shot and doesn't start the dot right away, I also prefer the trap that freezes and enemy in place, I use it in case a 2nd mob gets pulled they run into the trap and cant move until first mob is dead. Its safer for hardcore. Also intellect is better than stamina since you shouldn't be using your hps, but you do use a lot of mana. Spirit does not seem to make enough of a difference to prioritize. the regen rate from increased spirit is so minimal.

good points. I like being super cautious w my health. Spirit actually does save a ton of time if you prioritize it and are using it properly to chain pulls (not casting spells for last ~50% of enemy health)

On a non HC server agi/spi for 1/2 your gear is faster than going agi/sta or int/sta. Check out the testing done here on YT for validation.

Screech is great. Aoe threat puller and attack power debuff that goes off like every two seconds. Very good at just a single target. Crits wont even pull the mob off of the bird.

I know im late but idc about bis since it's pre cata but what bows do I need to try and get other than the crossbow? Im using some item lvl 155 gun from questing and haven't gotten another drop or want to spend the gold on AH

check out these weapons. Your best bet will probably be a PvP weapon or a weapon from raid. keep trying to get into raid groups and you will easily get it. www.wowhead.com/wotlk/items/weapons/max-req-level:80/type:2:18:3#items;0-3+20

@@mitchconner2021 you should try to join a guild preping for cata, they’d for sure help you out w the gearing. But for sure keep trying to get into raids , sometimes they just want bodies

im not sure if ill make 1 for this phase. But if you are starting at level 1 with no gear, id recommend going Beast Mastery and doing as many incursions as possible to get to honored by the time you hit 50, that way you get that 6-piece tier set from Emerald Wardens, which is super good at 50. Mix and match quests + instances and you should hit 50 fast because of the XP buff they gave everyone !

Super underrated guide. First time wow player here (both retail and classic) and was overwhelmed learning the game, let alone my class. This covered so many things other hunter guides didn't, from progression of what professions to level first and how to transition to what ideal "endgame professions", and key things not to miss, etc, while still being a concise. Super helpful! Thanks! Hope you make a phase 3 guide later on once you get to experience it yourself, cause I'll definitely watch it.

Do you maybe know how popular wow ytbers make those cool thubmnails with wow characters which are like i movies screen shoted for example Bellular or MarcelianOnline, I know for model softweare but it is pain and time consuming makeing a simple character :D

Not played it yet, looks fun. Although I have a concern, does it feel as ‘button mashing’ as it looks? Personally would love a WoW BR with arena type fights where good use of cool-downs is the key factor in winning.

Owl with screech is the only AoE threat generator and can save your ass when you're running. Take skinning and mining. Store all your stones and forged metal. Sell all the skins up to medium leather. Once you have enough medium leather (I think it's 20 or 40) to level engineering then switch from skinning to engineering. Stay out of caves and other high density areas until the mobs are green to you. Don't take on Elite mobs or elite quests until they're green to you. And even then, have an escape route. Stay out of instances. Yeah, sure, you could get that bow to drop in BFD. Or, you could end up with a tank or healer who DCs during a fight and lose your toon.

Good points expect the dungeons . I promise you most of the times people in your wow dungeons know what they’re doing. It’s going to be so much better if you get that blue bow from BFD than if you didn’t . Risk is what makes HC fun. You shouldn’t min max everything but you shouldn’t try and get the best gear. Dungeons are easily most fun part of leveling

its works like an enchant, so you find the rune and put it on your gear. once you get the rune press your character page (usually "C") then click the rune you want and put it on the piece of armor

Any advice if I was thinking of playing survival hunter OR an arms warrior with a pvp focus? Seems like survival hunter might have better CCs and is less durable? Like a rogue without stealth? Lol I currently have a 70 arms warrior and a 70 Marksman hunter I was debating swapping to survival. I've found I enjoy melee more than ranged and have been having fun with arms but apart of me misses the hunter lol

SV hunter is super fun. The thing i would focus on is your damage rotation. Then slowly start adding things , like harpoon macro, using your defensives properly and w/out over lapping. A good person to watch is Bicmex, he is a pro SV hunter.

Hi @Western_TV. Very accurate and nice guide. I do have a question though against rogue. If they decide to sap your pet first, then Cheap on you, it means you won't be able to use Roar of Sacrifice and there is no way for your crab to get out from that sap. Am I right?

ya its tough against rogues if they get the jump on you. for example if you are guarding a flag , to buy more time you want to place your pet far from the flag cap, and yourself away from your pet too, that way the rogue if forced to come out of stealth to walk to the flag after sap.

This information may help someone... if you need leather but don't have skinning. Fishing from pools along the coast they can drop junk boxes with leather... thats how i got my engi helm.

mm i mean if it was a dwarf warrior he can stone form youre scorpid chimera shot and then u are in some big trouble. anti venoms also dont work against posions higher than level 35. think a smart warrior would learn too anti venom the sting.

Why do you choose aspect of the hawk for the bm spec as melee? I copied it and just now I was wondering when you'd use it. As melee you mostly use aspect of the monkey. Cheers for a reply!

in group fights and STV/BGs i like to open with rapid fire + aspect of the hawk and just burst as much as i can before going in. that way i dont get targeted and killed in the opening seconds. it also makes it so you can go full ranged BM super easy.

If you are gonna pvp as Melee there is no option but Deep Survival. Trust me. BM is okay, but Survival annihilates as well as you have so much utility and you can still use your pet. with HoL rune and BM rune on pants.

not yet. there really isnt that great of another option, and together w the dual specialization it still makes it worth to stay with the 2 swords. seems like they are tinkering w the spec tho.

I’m running a 0/5/26 build. I take imp concussive in mm. Then I take 5 parry, 5 trap immobilize, 5 imp wing clip, 2 trap duration, 3 stamina, deterrence, counterattack, 2 trap resist, and 2 savage strikes. I use a 2hander and use lone wolf/flanking/trap launcher/melee specialist/chimera for runes. No issues closing the gap, chimera still crits for 800 with BFD xbow and disarm is OP.

to stop attacks i usually press escape if i am in combat. but you can also macro /stopattack
