Hey Mark I recently just purchased a used HKS supercharger. I'm having a issue where when I mount the supercharger it hits my VTECH solenoid preasure switch. What can I do to fix this?
@Marks-Garage3 ай бұрын
Hi Joel. That shouldn't happen. It should clear all of the OEM components. Are you sure all the brackets are fitted correctly

I see the label over the battery level lights has come off on your ratchet too. I just noticed mine was hanging off today, after only a few months owning it. Otherwise, I'm happy with the ratchet. But I do dislike this lazy habit of rebranding a generic Chinese tool by just putting sticky labels on top. Because they always fall off eventually.

Nice tools. But you wanted to say we must use separate tools for different job & not depend on combo tools like this yellow colour stripper😊
@protogionlastname60034 күн бұрын
Yellow stripper is not a combo tool, it's just a nice, well thought out stripper. A lot of pros are swearing by self adjusting strippers not because they are so versatile (they are, but that's not the point) but because of how well of a job they do.

are you sure that these batteries can be placed in series? If so, you still might want to consider an external balancer. They should be kept within 0.1 volt of each other.
@Marks-Garage7 ай бұрын
Yes these can be kept in series without issue. I have looked for an external balancer but I've not been successful. In theory when the battery is at float voltage (55.6v) or 27.8v per battery the BMS should balance the batteries pretty well. After several months there is no noticeable difference in voltage between the two batteries

Hi, what charging parameter settings are you using for this battery please?
@Marks-Garage Жыл бұрын
I charge my two batteries at the same settings as the rest of my lifepo4 batteries. Bulk charge 55.8v and a float of 55.6v. If you look at the renogy website it shows their recommended values within the manual.
@TheKandyGuy Жыл бұрын
Renogy is also Chines just for your information..
@Marks-Garage Жыл бұрын
This is true but at least there seems to be some sort of standard for build quality and capacity. You know that if it says 100ah then it will be 100ah. With a lot of Chinese products especially in the cheaper price bracket they make claims that just aren't possible. You have to take everything listed with a pinch of salt. Thanks for the comment 👍
@TheKandyGuy Жыл бұрын
I agree, at the same time you need to remember cheap things are no good, if something is cheaper there is something wrong, as long as there is some kind of support for whatever you are buying, that means it is good, there are lot of Chinese students in US who do shady business to pay for their schools, they are the once who sell junk from China, I do not know how they get it, however Renogy is a big company base in US I have perches solar panels from them that is how I know. @@Marks-Garage

How long does it hold the steady power for the car?? Until sealey discharge??
@dubmob151 Жыл бұрын
The charge in the caps will only allow a few seconds of cranking before they get deleted, so these are only for cars in good condition and are able to start quickly. If you have a car with some problems that needs extended cranking to start up, it won't work as well. For that you're best off with jumper cables and another car, or a fresh battery based jump pack. I prefer the caps because they won't degrade as rapidly as battery pack jump starters, and don't require diligent charge maintenance that the lithium packs need for best longevity. The lithium packs need to be kept charged just enough to work, and not kept fully charged all the time, because that degrades the batteries faster. And allowing them to discharge too far will leave them incapable of jumping. With the super caps, they can be left in the car and forgotten for years with no problems. I've been able to start many vehicles without fail so far, though no encounters with diesels yet, only regular gas engines.

@Dave-zg5xl Жыл бұрын
I bought one 5 years ago, it worked fine for a couple of years, came to use it last week and it wouldn't turn over my golf diesel. Contacted Sealey who didn't want to know.
@dubmob151 Жыл бұрын
That may be due to the draw from the glow plugs that diesels use to ignite the fuel from a cold start. Super cap starters generally aren't going to be good for those applications because they drain a good portion of the charge heating up the glow plugs, leaving less for the actual start, which probably takes more current in the high compression diesel engines. It might work with two charge steps to do it, recharging the caps a second time after preheating the glow plugs for the start.

Generally you use 50/50 mix of deionised water and methanol so generally speaking there are no contaminants to plug up the nozzles. The Nozzles are from aquamist and can be dismantled to clean if needed.

Which KW variant did you have? Have you ever been in an S2000 with Ohlins? If so…any comparative comments vs the KWs or Bilsteins? I’m trying to decide between KW V3 and Ohlins, or was anyway… my use would be largely like yours, with perhaps intent to do an odd track day in the future, but nothing regular. I’m moving from OEM, and want to retain that level of compliance as much as possible within reason, with intent to only lower by the minimum amount the kit allows (20/25mm on the Ohlins/KW V3).
@Marks-Garage2 жыл бұрын
I had the clubsports but with slightly softer springsto match the KW V3 spring rates. They are quite harsh for daily driving. Ohlins always seem to get good reviews but never seen a car with them fitted. I love the bilsteins, no damper adjustment but that suits me fine to be honest and for road driving they are perfect.
@brenfaltermeyer2 жыл бұрын
@@Marks-Garage so this is strange , because the KW V3 Spring rate is listed as 515ft lbs, or 9kg/mm, identical front & rear. The Ohlins are 110n/mm (11.2kg/mm) Front and 70n/mm(7.1kg/mm) rear. So the front is actually stiffer on the Ohlins than the KWs… This gap in front vs rear must also change the dynamics of the car quite a bit, though researching spring rates shows it is a general direction Honda we’re going with the subtle spring rate changes each year from 99 through 2009 - just never as big a gap as 11/7

A couple of issues with this video Mark, I didn't see any attempt to spray wd40 onto disk screws to loosen them before drilling it out-and even then no attempt to use reverse thread bit to unscrew it. The biggest issue I have and it's a safety related one, you struggled to remove the brake caliper securing bolts and for good reason, they're supposed to have thread lock put onto thread so that they don't vibrate loose...because it's your brakes!!
@Marks-Garage2 жыл бұрын
Wd40 is useless on removing rusty bolts. Experience told me that they would not come out easily. When the screw starts to get chewed up you are not going to be able to put enough torque on it to undo it. Never had a brake caliper bolt come use on my other cars after extensive use ie. Track days that absolutely kill the brakes. Videos not perfect but there are many methods to do the job and this is how I did it 👍👍
