My ancestor ,Dr Samuel Alexander McGowan came from Lisnaskea.....during the famine he moved to Manchester.....he had 5 children and returned home each time, to see them be born in Ireland .

I was part of a Honor guard at St Angelo in 1956 when the Duke of Edinburgh landed a De Havilland Dove on a visit to Enniskillen. The airport was not open and we cleaned the runway before he arrived. True story. We were all stationed at RAF Castle Archdale at the time.
