He weighed 105 Kg. This year (2023) at the European Championships18 year old Bulgarian, Karlos Nasar, Clean and Jerked 221 Kg weighing just 89 Kg. Obviously winning the 89 Kg class. AND - Nasar's total would have won the 96 kg class, the 102 Kg class AND the 109 Kg class (he would definitely have been lighter than Gasparyan!) Damn!! 😱😱 He deserves 4 Gold Medals! Literally NO ONE is in Nasar's class at this time.

It was sticky. Not that usual easy, Klokov's later beautifull clean and jerk. But many times proper russians does not work in yankee land well. It's like you would step on enemy side.

Damn, he didn't even have to squat on the first attempt. Shame how his career turned out later with the Bulgarian team getting shitty supplements (the explanation accepted by the IWF) before the 2008 olympics. He was gonna lift for Azerbaijan in London 2012 but apparently got a tooth infection and had a tooth removed without anaesthetic because it could trigger a positive drug test. Unfortunately he still wasn't able to perform at the highest level due to the infection... His career could have been so much better, but he still did alright, so power to him.

2005 - The year Klokov got his elusive Gold at Doha. Also, the year he achieved his main ambition for the time - totaling more than his father at the 105+ category, weighing all 3kg more than his usual 105. Of course he would have felt invincible, and while he would have been careful and utilized the perfection of technique, as has always done, training demanded Klokov to strive for the 260+ rack jerk which brought the shoulder injury that plagued him until the end of his career. An injury which nevertheless didn't stop him obtaining the most important silver of his life, at the 2008 Olympic games, following a series of bronzes the prior years.

The videos we are talking about are from DIFFERENT YEARS. Klokov didn't compete at the open in 2006. And in regards to your comment about Luke being clean, you have no idea what you are talking about. Don't talk trash unless you have some huge numbers to back it up.

This video is of the Arnold Classic in March of 2006. The Open is on December 3 of that year. The Open Series that will be part of The Arnold are a more recent invention (2017), Watch the snatches from The Arnold kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZ7Zg61prNaAeNU. Then, watch this video of a tested, drug-free American lifter beat a Russian lifter when the Russian is off his cycle and wag his finger in his face because he knows.

If you have problems with the front squat, generally it's because of lack of flexibility in the wrists, or triceps. The front squat however, helps your posture a lot more once you get it right and hits the quads quite hard.
