@@jol0973 from what I hear it's more to do with length of contract than the wage. Liverpool have always been very strict when it comes to renewing contracts for player over 30 and that's the stumbling block I believe..

That type of spending is unsustainable for any club who want to adhere to FFP and be competitive. Liverpool are not Man City. There's no magic money tree. The list of unreplaceable players that have been replaced is really quite long now. A year extension or let him go.

Maybe he’s not the Roy Keane type leader but I still think he can convey himself well, especially off the pitch I’ve seen countless things that tell me he really cares and offers that higher authority. I’m not sure anyone else could be that leader that’s a starting 11 player, mainoo is too young probably a future captain, de ligt hasn’t been here long but he could be one for the future, I just don’t see anyone with the capability of wearing the armband for a season you know

@@oliveradams393 I agree! Although I may not be the biggest fan of his 'antics' we alluded to what you mention in the pod actually! He does care and I think hes just a very emotional player.. It's very true we see current captains and we automatically compare them to the legendary captains of the past.. gone are the days where your captain needed to deliver a crunching tackle or scream at team mates to get the team going, the games evolved and so have captains! Right now, Bruno probably is the most viable player to skipper united, however divisive he may be! Appreciate the comments 🙏
