Thanks for uploading this. My mom was Miss Teenage New Orleans in this pageant, Kathy Alexander (now Kathy Oliver). She had never watched the telecast, so I sent this to her, and she really enjoyed the trip down memory lane. She says Bob Hope was a class act.

@@californiagold3857 This was the smartest and healthiest pageant for young women. We all wore the same clothes so being Barbie Doll Skinny wasn't a factor. And beauty of young women IS SO much more than skin deep. They tested us with a written test, pop culture, and performing talent as well as interview skills so winner represented well rounded, talented and intelligent teenagers.. These are 50 BEAUTIFUL teenager in this video and on that stage, where it matters most, on the inside striving to be positive role models!

I loved watching this today! Actually I was LOOKING for some footage of the Miss Teenage America Pageant 1976, in which I was a contestant, as Miss Teenage Paragould (Arkansas). Would you happen to have that? I would absolutely LOVE seeing it. The show was live, and nobody had VCR's even, back then. My family--especially children and grandchildren--would TREASURE it! This was in Nov. 1977 probably for MTA 78.

Thank you I was looking for the one Paul Williams the singer-songwriter appeared in one of the Miss American Teenager Pageant (1977) completely different pageant not this one probably had footage of the MTA 1975 one predating it but footage of it showed in still alive the documentary about Paul Williams. I was wondering if you heard of that?

Thank you so much for putting this on KZbin. Becky Reid carried that title with dignity and hard work and was a fantastic representative of the youth of the late ‘70s. The judges got it right!
