Looks great. But I don't think I can follow your recipe. I need to cook with regular, and leveled, measuring Tablespoons. . Your 4 Tablespoons might be 1/3 cup or 1/2 cup.

Loved your recipe. After a visit to St.Pancrasse, I am now keen to cook this in my homeland in Australia. Au gratin can be translated to "bake with a layer of grated cheese on top until golden" - cheddar or a mix of cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan is very tasty. Thank you for your video. I really enjoyed it.

Thank you for standing up for the animals. I'm not vegan - yet - moving resolutely in that direction. Having to drag relationships with me, kicking and screaming. Vegans add so much to the culinary knowledge and expertise, what vegans have figured out how to do with plant based ingredients is nothing short of phenomenal and a true gift to all good cooks everywhere. Thank you.

I am a meat eater, but I strongly believe that animals used for consumption should be treated humanely during their lives and killed quickly, and above all not tortured. Actual foie gras production is hideous (kudos to the late actor Roger Moore and others for exposing it to the public), and I greatly applaud these delicious vegetarian alternatives.

I think you’re kind of missing the thread here. At least in the US when we think of cancel culture it’s canceling people who do actually harmful things like Polanski, for example the cancelation of Kevin Spacey or Dave Chappelle. And yet their are instances where cancelation is happens to people who don’t really deserve it like Lindsey Ellis. And so the interesting question is not whether cancel culture is good or bad per se but why is it good and even necessary in some cases and bad and harmful in others, and what that says about the cancelation impulse and trend itself.
@vegeodyssey8981
@vegeodyssey8981 Жыл бұрын
Hi Eric, The second part of the video deals with this topic if you are mentioning (people come after some people who didn't really harm anybody just for difference of opnion eg promoting veganism, while people judged for the worst crimes, and actually harmed people like Polanski don't face significant consequences). The examples are just french examples but the implications with the paradox of tolerance are roughly the same
@Soggygranite
@Soggygranite 9 ай бұрын
You are misunderstanding the paradox of tolerance. The most important factor that would label you problematic with your intolerance level is if you are not willing to have rational argument over an idea. Trans discussions are the most obvious example currently. There MUST BE a discussion. Certain aspects of the trans movement are nonsensical to many people. Having those people’s opinions deemed as so intolerant that we must not question their validity is THE definition of the paradox of tolerance. Those who say we must not discuss certain aspects of the trans movement are doing one of two things: 1. Unintentionally Conflating the factual and evident struggles of members of the trans community with gender claims that many find nonsensical 2. Purposely conflating these two points to sew confusion between aforementioned separate ideas. The problem is not the idea itself, it’s the notion that certain questionable aspects of the trans movement are forbidden from scrutiny/discussion.

I don't think that's the case at all. Canceling Roman Polanski isn't really canceling him, it's denouncing a known child rapist. Same with Kevin Spacey. On the other hand, Dave Chappelle is not really canceled but plenty of people would like to if they could which would mean shut him down and shut his career down simply because they don't like his beliefs. He hasn't raped anybody. He hasn't harmed anybody. He's simply expressed a belief. Not even really expressed a belief. Just made certain jokes . And what's most interesting is how clearly very liberal Hollywood gives a standing ovation for Roman Polanski The convicted child rapist, yet wants to vilify Dave Chappelle for simply making some jokes they didn't like. Pretty much tells me all I need to know

I'm so pleased with how this cheese turned out!! It has a very strong taste and it's by far the best vegan sliceable cheese I've had! I make a cheese fondue with potatoes that is also fantastic, so potato cheeses may just be the best!! hehe Thank you so much! I've had it as a snack with grapes and even my non-vegan husband loved it! I also made the croque monsieur and it was delicious! I made all the different versions (LOL) and like they say in th US, I'm a happy camper!! hehehe SOOOOO happy!

I have a question about when would be the best time to freeze them. You say in the intro that it's possible to freeze, right? Would it be after rolling them? And how to bake them after frozen, please?
@vegeodyssey8981
@vegeodyssey8981 Жыл бұрын
Hi Virginia! We prefer to freeze them once we did the last rollout and roll the croissants (so before putting in the oven). But we also froze the dough at an earlier stage (at the stage before putting the butter plate or after), and that works very well too. We often freeze the dough let's say if we know we want croissants on Saturday but don't have time on Friday, so we can make the dough the weekend before. Just take out the dough out of the freezer the evening before to the fridge so it has time to unfreeze :)

I've been wanting to try to make vegan croissants for some time now, but here in Brazil I will have to make the vegan butter first since thery're not so easily accessible (especially at 83%...)... but I've been researching about this and the tips you give about the butter fat percentage and flour protein percentage match what I've seen after a lot of researching regular croissant recipes. They look wonderful, thank you!!
