Haha. When its a woman its something to celebrate and understand. We men have the privilege of learning how to accommodate you better. But when its a man, hes irredeemable and criticized and the best thing you can do is divorce him.

This is painfully relatable for me. I've stuttered for most of my life and now I'm 21. I find it's always been easier for me to speak with kids than with adults and people my age. I've come to the conclusion that it's because I feel the need to perform or speak perfectly around older people. Lately, with varying degrees of success, I've tried to avoid saying certain words or phrases that keep this vicious cycle going, such as "to be fair" or "honestly" instead of just saying what I want to say.

Open mind is one thing. Understanding is another. Understanding why she would behave a certain way is great but when does the Aspergirl take some responsibility for her behaviours and put some thought into trying to control some of it. Or get a better grip of what's happening. Get a therapist involved. Get a newer diagnosis and question some of her family menbers in the sense that they also have weird behaviour. As a man married to a Aspergirl, who's spent years watching, listening, thinking about behaviour, I'd like to think that the effort would be appreciated. But more than that I'd like for her to be able to acknowledge this marriage and the love that it involves. Indifference to me is one of the things that is really hurtful when she does it. So yeah. As a husband I try my best, but at times I feel the Aspergirl could do a bit more of the understanding thing herself.

Her books ARE good though!. BUT can you imagine living with a man on the spectrum but neither if us knowimg he had autism. He went undiagnosed until he was 74 (10 yrs oldèr than me). Can you REALLY??? imagine living that long like speaking 2 different languages??? If you can, you will undsestand how we onwittingly literally destroyed each other. So not fair. If only we had known, i could hopefully habe made a difference. He would not have had the capabilities but actually knowing he did love me after all could have been all it took to give me strength to make things better for us especially with all the knowledge i have now (but too late to use it). Today, people are luckier in that schools are. Proactively looking for it and there is so many resources to learn from. The crime though is that there are not enough specialists in this field and therapy with anyone who doesn't solely specialise in autism / neurodiverse relationships only do damage. The most despicable thimg though is that governments don't provide enough funding for modt to get help. Today still, only those with money can afford a chance at happiness. I still grieve for our lost lives. I still grieve at the injustace or our last few years keft in this life we won't have any contact again and on top of that, financially ruined so much so that in 5 years Max i will have no choice but to end my life unless i win the lottery. So much potential for a happy life but it was stolen from us. Not his fault. Not my fault. It was nothing we could have forseen. He suffered almost as much as me but internalising his pain. We destroyed each othet and now we sit each separately awaiting death to cone calling soon and no possibility of seeing each other to say goodbye. Even that was taken from us on a single night forever etched into my brain😢

I stumbled on this video today, so after 11 years of it being published. I'm a man. I've listened to many stories now, and I CANNOT for the life of me identify with males with aspergers. But this video and other asper girls represent my experience also. I'm not saying I'm right, I'm saying that's how it feels like and what I experienced exactly (as exact it can be, since she's somewhat abstract). As if they're speaking about my own experiences. The only disernable difference I can think of is that I'm capable of reading emotion from body language AND have an intuitive guess of what it usually means. People say I'm wrong when I talk about those things (because I care they don't hurt themselves), yet proof by action I was right. If anybody reads my message still.. Could you explain how its possible to FULLY identify with female autism, not male autism? Do we still speak of autism then in a man? I've been looking for an answer even went to psychologists for it. It was not conclusive; I was NOT deemed autistic (so I must be high functioning then if I am), and highly gifted. It isn't as great as it sounds. Do any of you have an idea?

Hi, I just found your channel and I like what you say. Today is my 62nd birthday. I am a happy Aspie. You know, the kind of happy that comes with realizing I really am not part of the common human group. I learned late that I am who I am. I have been able to forgive myself and my past lovers for the failures that the difference allowed to happen.that might not make sense but the unseen but real difference would not have been such a ruining factor if I had an understanding of my own complexities, or as I like to call them, simplicities. Your efforts to clarify these will help many folks be fair with each other and perhaps avoid the type of misunderstandings that broke hearts like mine and those who I loved. Good job. Smiling, George.

3:00 I don't hear you talking about a two way street. I hear you focusing on how "the other person" blames you instead of being understanding of you. I think it is important for Aspies to be open to the two-way street where you take responsibility for your actions and others take responsibility for their actions. I get that you have a specific topic you are covering, but if you don't cover it from an inclusive perspective, it loses value.

I think it is misleading to talk about your own characteristics as if they apply to others. I have a close relationship to a female with Asperger's Syndrome and she has VERY different characteristics. For example, she is not very good at mimicking social behavior. Quite the opposite. She has an extremely difficult time engaging socially. She doesn't understand social interactions and will do things that are not socially normal. I would say the biggest issue is that she has a really hard time understanding where her inner world ends and the rest of the world begins. For example, she will start a sentence in the middle of her own thoughts as if others know what she has been thinking about. People are constantly asking her "what are you talking about?"

I always knew there was something different about me. A LOT of what this lady says sounds just like me. I was so embarrassed once when I had lunch at a BIG long table with my wacky boss and his family who had a lot of guests, and on one day the guests were French. I had taken French in school. I didn't realize it but I was speaking English with a French accent, like they were. The wife of my boss announced loudly, "do you realize you're speaking with a French accent?"

Yer aspergers people suck to deal with, never maintaining strong connection with phones, like never texting or wanting to call. Which feels so fake because then they focus on you when you're around? Like it doesn't seem like care, ya know? They emotionally try too hard to help and then get burnt out. It was stupid. This lead to suicidal ideation and attempts. Oh God and the drinking problems, they struggle because of the constant anxiety and being overwhelmed. They do it to themselves, and now other have to deal with it. They get focused and interested in stuff people really don't want to hear over and over. They try to cater for people too much and lack critical judgement, so get used, even though let's be honest.. They should have learnt that by now. They are so hard to be around haha, even when it's obvious that people don't want to hear their opinion, they, of course, provide it. Or in social situations they go quite or piss off to be by themselves, like its so rude. And when you try to help, they suck at articulating their own emotions, like legit zombies, so how can you even help them. They say they are sad? I don't see em crying or even upset , so what is the expectation here? I feel like they are burdens who try to hard, imagine being able to do something technical, and then struggle with running their daily life's, they need to get their priority straight. They do really well for a few years, then fall down and can't get up. It's a frustrating cycle cause they should be able, but then aren't.. Kinda seems like they give up. I hate dealing with aspergers people, having a high suicide rate? Toxic traits? Lack of expression? Try to help you but can't even help themselves, this will lead to them needing help, but like I didn't sign up for that.

Thank you for being so vulnerable, very moving. My personal opinion is that sometimes we label things incorrectly. As a researcher in bio-chemistry with over 15 years experience, I often see bio-chemical and brain imbalances that often go un-diagnosed. We then say that the person is depressed or emotionally imbalanced. It can be a simple as a person is allergic to black pepper and eats it with food often, I do not fully agree with your autism diagnosis. A simple calcium deficiency can make someone seem insane to others. (More common with women than men) I cannot recommend more highly that a broad spectrum vitamin/supplement regime, The difficulty here is that most persons will buy a few exotic supplements and then stop taking them after a short time. Stick to the basics and add condition specific formulas to counter a specific condition. I also cannot speak more highly of Bach Flower Remedies. If you were to only buy one chose Star of Bethlehem which fortifies the emotional body for strength, promotes more restful sleep and boosts the immune system. A broad spectrum regime for depression benefits almost everyone as this world tends to grind us into the dirt. We love you deeply.

My ex (who I think maybe had Asperger's) was the world's best listener. He was sooooooo validating, it was amazing, as I have this deep fear that I'm boring. I have wondered recently, though, if he was just watching and mirroring me. (??). But still, it's so nice to have a partner who listens to you.

I am gifted adult, and most comfortable with Aspies, because my strongest trait is being able to read people, and Aspies are honest by nature, have no interest in gossip, they are intelligent, analytical, capable of abstract thinking and not prone to cognitive dissonance. They are also empathetic and capable of genuine altruism. For what its worth if Aspies where the largest homogenous group instead of NTs, we would have a world without "capitalist private property" ergo no borders, war, slave trade, poaching, and millions of rip-offs and scams that occur daily. It not that NTs are intrinsically bad or stupid, its they are biological driven by survival and procreation, like all creatures, as it is the difference between survival and extinction of the species. I only discovered I was gifted (and I hate the term) was when the war broke out in 2003. The next day I was ringing human rights organizations, unions etc to see what was being done, surely we were going to march on the capitol? The difficulties that aspies may have in reading social cues, is because NT always wear mask, there actions and words are never consistent, as they are driven by survival while taught that or society is one founded in altruism, its little wonder we live in a society that is a psychotic basket case incapable of meeting any of needs, except for the pyschopaths that are the worst possible leaders holding power

Are you a good person? Let’s check and see! Have you ever stolen? (Even if it’s something really small or not worth much) Have you ever lied? Or have you ever looked with lust ? Now, have you ever taken the Lords Name in vain? Have you ever hated someone? If you’ve ever done any of those things, you would be either a liar, a thief, an adulterer,(for looking with lust. See Matthew 5:28), a blasphemer(for taking Gods Name in vain), a murderer (for hating someone. See 1 John 3:15) or maybe even all of them. And that was only 5 of the Ten Commandments. Therefore Gods Standard Is Very High. The Bible Even Says That If We’ve Just Broken One Law We’re Guilty Of Breaking Them All. (James 2:10) So we have all sinned against God and therefore deserve death.(Romans 3:23 & 6:23)That’s why ~2000 years ago A Savior was sent; Jesus Christ, to die for the sins of The World And Then He rose 3 days later. Through His sacrifice He Paid The Fine for our sins, and made Atonement for the sins of the world. Now we can be made new by accepting The Gift of Salvation. In order to accept This Gift, we must first Repent. This is a change of mind about sin (from an embrace of sin to rejection of sin) and a Turning to God. Once you Repent, you can then turn to FAITH/TRUST in the Savior. A person who has truly Repented of their sin and has Trust in Christ will give evidence of a changed life. Therefore, as a Result of Salvation you’ll then produce Good Works and the Fruit of Salvation. (Reading the Word, Acts of Kindness, readiness to help, to serve, to give of oneself, The Fruits of the Spirit, etc.) You aren’t saved by doing Good Works, but you can then produce Good Works once you are Saved.
