to be honest, I kinda hate the pics where the guys grab them by the tail.... the fish look a lot smaller.. I want to see the tail.. I want to see the entire fish. The photos look better to me. I always say, don't hold it like a gun, hold it like a fish

Please make an 8'6" Salmon/Steelhead rod. Personally, I find this shorter rod is better when throwing heavier spoons like 1/2oz-3/4oz in the lake. Especially if its a windy day. I definitely will end up owning three of them once you come out with them.

Would this be the right choice for trolling deep diving cranks from a kayak for walleye and salmon? Is there a better option?
@FishUSA23 күн бұрын
Yes, this rod would work well for that application.

It blows my mind wen I see people crimping split shots with pliers. Just buy soft lead like water gremlin ,they are the best ,so soft and they have a unique way to split the shoots that avoids slipping ,just crimp them with your fingers so you don’t damage your fluorocarbon ,wen you get a big Stellie it won’t have a weak point from crimping with pliers

"Guy in N.Y. teaches guys to pinch lead on with hemostats. Pinch the 3/0 water gremlins on with your thumb and index fingers." This guy preaches using shot on leader......let's see how he puts the shot on the leader......unless he squeezing a 3/0 on his leader. I have heard a lot of people rip this guy apart....never understood why until I watched this. I want to fish behind this guy after he educates every fish in the river. There will lots of fish getting a PHD after a good angler follow behind this guy, For a guy who says no one knows everything, this dude thinks he does.

The older gent was trying to get him to explain the type of water. Josh did not understand where he was coming from. What Josh should have said was if you fishing slow not so choppy water under 6 ft use the 6 gram. If you have faster water like you would see in a bigger river with surface chop and swirls from boulders or what not use a bigger float. I would like to tell you what float for that faster water but I came here to learn that myself and dont want to give bad advice.

What applications (lures) does this rod can be used for (with) except for drift and float? Thanks.
@FishUSAАй бұрын
This rod would also be great for finesse swimbaits, hair jigs, and other small baits you'd like to get good casting distance with.

You right to think that.🐻

My lake has a ton of weeds and grass. Im scared to let these hit the bottom because theres no weed guard. WOuld these work to retrieve them mid water column?
@FishUSAАй бұрын
Absolutely! They also work very well fished under a float.
@RibbitMaster64Ай бұрын
Are they good in Florida .. do large mouth eat them? Are they good around wood
@FishUSAАй бұрын
Yes, they will work well anywhere fish are feeding on bottom-dwelling baitfish. The unexposed hook makes them able to be fished around wood as well.

I just got a raven im6 steelheader rod and just wanted to know how it performs against summer steelhead? They are very acrobatic. I fish for them in small creek/rivers.
@FishUSAАй бұрын
The IM6 will work well for summer steelhead. That soft tip helps protect your leader when they go airborne

Can this be used for river fishing(drift fishing)
@FishUSAАй бұрын
They can be, but they're much better suited for big water trolling applications.

Any concerns about the split shot being too shiny? Steelhead would get spooked at all?
@FishUSA2 ай бұрын
The split shot shown here will go on your main line, not your leader, so they shouldn't spook the fish. If adding shot to your leader, a more subtle color such as black or grey is preferred.
