Feel sorry for David that he thinks bird song is only for establishing territory or attracting a mate. He must think that only human beings are capable of singing for joy.

And then some are so clever as to say there is no Creator. One who created in the finest detail. One day I shall see him face to face. He spoke and it was! It boggles the mind to look at the detail He created each living creature. So complex and yet so undeniably beautiful. ❤

Why did every prey species develop horns tusks or antlers for the males to fight each other, and none of them ever developed anything for fighting off wolves or bears or lions?
@skateboardist168624 күн бұрын
Because God wanted a chase not a fight all the time.

They do use them against predators, mainly by intimidation, but there are often cases where predators are injured or killed. But I think it's a constant arms race between predators and prey and a balance of what works well enough most of the time against what is taxing to produce and carry around. It's one thing to have enough equipment to battle a rival male with similar strength, tactics and equipment for breeding rights, but completely another to fend off potentially a pack or pride of predators. They only have to be able to survive enough to reproduce in enough numbers to keep going, and that's what they're generally able to do, so there's not enough pressure for them to have to take on more intense and costly protection, because what they're doing is working well enough. Predators also tend to prefer to target the more vulnerable, so the young, old, injured, fatigued or less heavily armed, and generally fleeing is the first response, it's possibly more efficient and less risky to flee than to fight, and fleeing might tend to make it more obvious who's more vulnerable. I think it's just a fine balance of a lot of factors.
