Great anti bullying song. There is actually a performance where Yui leaps over Moas head and it looks amazing (I'm guessing they put a stop to that :P).

This is an awesome seminal concert - although I'm always surprised by how few ppl notice Yui's ripped skirt - maybe 1/1-- do? I guess there's just SO much going on though. Great reaction to another one of their wonderful and inspiring songs.

Compilation - but I don't mind the good ones - they showcase different costumes, venues and crowds (important for them as much of their music is participatory) and they're so accurate it's not too hard to stitch different shows together. There's a lot of different versions of headbanger - all great. I particularly like the "night of 15" EDM version - only from the Legend 97 concert I think. Great reaction to an insanely talented and entertaining group :)

Pole or staff, not sword. They got struck down, but gathered together with their own (inner) strength. Nagatte is to hit, got it correct!

She caught the fly, but did not kill it. She is quick (they are all strong) and also gentle. They defeated their own inner doubts ( your worst enemy), the figures in white. That's why the reflections in their eyes are themselves.

I really love the message in this song, and especially in the MV. The girls fight their own “inner demons” in order to move forward toward their goals. Also had the pleasure of seeing this live myself a few months ago. Amazing! 🤘🦊

Most of BabyMetal's early songs (when Yui was still with them) were of encouragement, hope and fun. With many being aimed at females, which is cool. Sue's strong vocals shine through in this one. Cool video Kiki.

💀 ⚡ 💕 / 👻 👻 👻 As you mentioned, like a lot of BABYMETAL songs, this one has a positive message about facing life's challenges. In this case, those challenges are both internal and external. For this song, Su, Yui and Moa watched a lot of martial arts movies and worked with their choreographer, MIKIKO to incorporate those kinds of moves into the dance routine. I love the scene where Moa catches a fly (and later lets it go free). Did you notice what was revealed when the masks of their adversaries broke apart at the end?

🦊✋🤛 I left a comment about the song and video under your reaction.

Nice reaction. 'Karate' was the lead single for their second album (2016). It is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this because as a Japanese martial art it reflects their culture - that was a very important thing for them as well. As with a lot of their songs it is also about always moving forwards. The figures in white were the girls all along and they were conjuring up their own inner demons to fight against. They beat the first, the second knocked them down but they got up to eventually defeat themselves (did you notice the reflections of each of the girls in their own eyes when the masks shattered and it was revealed as them? Not many people spot that). They did watch a lot of martial arts movies to get ideas for the choreo as they wanted it to look as authentic as possible (but they are not martial artists). Moa catching the fly (you may have missed that when you paused the video) was a nod to Mr Miyagi in The Karate Kid. Mr Miyagi may have used chop sticks (and it may have taken him two or three films before he caught one), Moa caught her fly with her eyes closed - first time .... and she let it go. We all know Moa wouldn't hurt a fly. This song and video won 2 awards. "Best Metal Video in MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2016" and "Best Metal Song in 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards".

💀⚡ 💕 / 👻 👻 👻 It's interesting to compare this choreography from MIKIKO, to the one she did shortly afterwards for the Perfume song 'Flash'. Both dance routines are influenced by martial arts.

You have seen children learning karate? They practice the movements for hours and shout these words, seiya soiya. Oss is what you say when you greet your opponent on the fight floor. Right palm open, left fist into it, bow down, come fight me.

Moachan caught a fly with her fingers. I'm pretty sure this is a reference to the film The Karate Kid 1984. The sensei is from Okinawa and tells his student if you can catch a fly with chopsticks, you can accomplish anything.
