@@paperburn That would be a single company versus multiple. His company is allowed to do that. The problem changes when you get, just an example, 5 companies boycotting one company. His company will have to prove that these groups acted together in that case which probably be hard to do.

@@paperburn The problem is when multiple companies intentionally work together to boycott something, it tends to cross a legal threshold. Imagine if you owned a company and other companies disagreed with your opinion so they boycott you company and they do this by working together to do it. How would you feel? Would that be fair? It's not fair.

Quite easy reason. If a company gets taken over any contract can most of the time be terminated as that prefends them to be paying money to a company taking over by criminals or people who damage the companies ethics or social goals. As Elon did.

Its weird how butt hurt right wingers get when they get boycotted for their behavior/statements, but are not shy to do the same whenever they get their feelings hurt, like Nike or Budweiser. Elon has done and said some atrocious shit and advertisers are free to respond in kind, no matter how much it financially or emotionally hurts him.

I don't think you understand the argument here. Those advertisers are free to advertise on X. What they are not free to do is use their advertising money to pressure Musk into censuring the things they don't like. They are also not free to collude with other advertisers in an effort to apply that pressure.
