I absolutely enjoyed this fishing. Here in Wv USA, my favorite creek looks like this creek y’all fished. It has browns that get up to 28”’s on occasion but a 20” one is a big one here. I’m fishing it today and I’m hoping to catch them on dries. Thanks a ton !!!!!!

Hi Ollie! Thinking of getting a euro nymphing rig for next season (northern Europe). Came across your channel this fall and are enjoying the videos! Looking at rods at the moment. Thoughts on the rod you are holding in this video?😊
@olliebassettflyfishing
@olliebassettflyfishing Ай бұрын
@@Heinrich_Von_Schnellfahrer The rod is 11’ 2wt vision Nymphmaniac, I like it a lot for fishing for small to medium sized fish with tippet up to about 0.14mm. It’s also nice with light nymphs. Maybe a more powerful model is better if you are targeting bigger fish

@@olliebassettflyfishing Nice, Thanks! Thinking of a 10,6 3wt. They are currently 30% off for black friday, so its very tempting. I fish a large, deep river and grayling/trout between 1-2kgs (that goes for small to medium in NZ, right😅) are fairly regular so a little backbone would nice. I usually go for a 9 foot 4 or 5wt for highsticking/euro, but I`m not too keen on the faster modern rods as I find them a bit stiff for grayling. Easy to pull the hook/break the tippet when you need to move them out of heavy current.

@olliebassettflyfishing cool, I'll give it another try. What knot are you using for the tippet to the micro loop?
@anthonyclark6118
@anthonyclark6118 Ай бұрын
@@olliebassettflyfishing Micro loop mean you can do that diameter jump into fine tippets (why we use the rings I guess!). Carry less trinkets around too!! Have just always found traditional tippet to leader knots slip with these systems...tried doing micro loops at home with a bodkin....but this is cool and makes it practical on the water even for people with three left thumbs like me.
