So your altering the preload on the spring, doesn't make any sense. Not a true coilover, MCA are no good.

You heard it here first. Random guy on internet is right and suspension company that literally builds suspension for time attack cars is wrong.

@15xsti584 жыл бұрын

@GLHNSLHT24 жыл бұрын
MCA is wrong. You want to adjust the spring preload so you have 2/3 compression travel and 1/3 rebound with the weight of the car on the suspension. Then set the ride height via the lower mount.

Yeah the mishimoto FMIC is awesome I did need to modify the Cobb SF airbox to suit tho, I had to cut a decent chunk out of it to allow room for the inter cooler pipe. I’m thinking of changing to the process west intake in the future tho, maybe have a look at that as an option

You don't use a torque wrench on your plugs? Just curious how well they sit... I had a Honda Ridgeline that I didn't use torque wrench on and the plug ended up getting dislodged and still firing while all the way up against the coil pack, it melt the valve cover and metal (aluminum) around it and CST me $5k at the shop for new head and work.
@15xsti585 жыл бұрын
Nah I don’t use a torque wrench on the plugs, these plugs have a crush washer on them, when I feel the plug bottom out inside the head I go about another 90 degrees of a turn and that’s tight enough, you can normally sense the washer seating/crushing when you get to this point, if you are unsure and can get a torque wrench in there better safe than sorry tho I guess

Slightly quicker engine revving due to the lightened flywheel, the clutch pedal feel and engagement is the most noticeable thing though tbh, much better than stock

Hey mate, would be great to see a finished a video with the tyres fitted. Hard to find these wheels on STI's. How did you go with fitment with +30? I am leaning towards +38 to avoid fitment issues, and its a shame they don't come in 9.5" wide :(
@15xsti585 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, thanks for the feedback, fitment wasn’t much of an issue, I had the car a bit low and it was scrubbing in the rear, I rolled the rear guards and that sorted the scrubbing, also used slightly stretched tyres, 245/40/18 RE003s

I assume you went to get the wheel alignment and suspension geometry done after removing all the suspension and changing it all ?, coil overs or even just lowering a car and the removing adjustable camber bolts can put your geometry out causing poor handling, pulling, excessive tyre wear, and possibly damage what you have fitted
