Pues lo malo que se brincan un proceso de los más importantes que es el montado..es cuando se pone el corte sobre la horma y este proceso no aparece.

You shouldn’t use a metal cobbling hammer on those metal hole punches. Look at 2:31 at the end of the punch, where it is being hit by the hammer. It is all flattened and mushroomed over. Metal on metal is a perfect way to ruin you expensive tools. Use a leather working maul, or a wood, rubber or hard plastic hammer/mallet. It needs some weight so you don’t have to hit hard all the time. Super nice work btw. Can’t wait to get my boots!

Something sketch when the craftsmen cant afford what they make

Luke Calls not at all! We all work for someone more wealthy than us. When it comes to handcrafted then think of a lifetime of acquired skills or even just a Decade of skills and the hourly rate justly deserved to that person. Most trades and items made require many many hours to see a product through to the end. Custom tailored suits, custom jewelry, custom handmade shoes...easily adds up to more hours times the hourly rate than most makers can "afford" but they can always make their own shoes or suits etc. I can afford exotic skins such as gator or croc or python but once i make it into a wallet I'm definitely not going to pay what I'm asking others to. They pay me for my skills aquired over years plus a few square feet of skins. My clientele has to be in a bracket above me or i have to listen to unlearned middle class people tell me they can just go get 10 wallets from walmart for what i ask for one. Disposable wallets of course. Smh.

They should not be putting their hands in that glue. They should use a brush. Contact cement is very potent stuff.

Almost every part of the process could have been done by punches and dies, but the fact that every hole was punched by hand, the welts hand skived, the soles trimmed by hand gives me goosebumps, and as peaceful as it looks, stitching by hand is tiring and often painful to pull the thread through by hand. Craftsmen of this level are like Gods to me.

We need to have as much work as possible return to the hands of craftsmen and women. Better products, safer practices, happier clients and workers. Automation has its place (my specialty) but nothing beats handcrafted longevity.
