Followed this guide and everything works as intended. Only trouble is that sound is mono from spotify, podcasts etc. I have the sena srl mesh and bmw connected navigator though.

Hi - Very useful information. I bought a R1250 GSA recently and I've been standing it upright when refuelling to get as much fuel in as possible. I won't be doing that again. I'll be visiting Germany in 2 weeks (Black Forest area) and really looking forward to it.

Hi, moving from R18B to Classic. Anything done to front forks for adjustment ? R18B has automatic preload so never thought about manual adjustment . I weigh 78 with riding kit and lest assume 10 kegs for full fuel. So I am all the way out on preload?

Thank you once again. I have one question. You didn't pair your mobile phone with your Schuberth helmet. I understand the Sena comms system on the helmet comes with an App to allow connection for a number of functions. Thanks

Thank you for your question. You are right, there is a Schuberth app. However, in the setup I am showing, this is not possible. You need to set your helmet beforehand. When I use the RNineT (with no Garmin or TFT), I usually pair my helmet directly with my phone. I keep my phone in my pocket and navigate with Apple-Maps, listend to Podcasts or Music. This works very well too.

Excellent Explanation. I have one question if you or someone might be able to answer please. You mentioned the order is important? Why is this so? (I have the R1250GS, Android Mobile and a Sena SC2 Helmet Comms ) Many thanks

Thank you very much for the comment. In short, the reason for the order has to do with the way the audio distribution protocols work ("i.e. digital pecking order"). Through trial and error I have experienced the best results in the order I am recommending. However, the constant development keeps changing things. I just got myself a new Schuberth C5 including the latest Sena technology (SC2). Now I actually prefer a different setup: 1) iPhone to C5 Helmet: for music and phone and apple-map audio directions (The voice control is working quite well). 2) iPhone to TFT: For Navigation on TFT only, nothing else. 3) iPhone to Nav: For live traffic and weather updates, nothing else. The only issue is, before I start to drive, I need to turn on the bike on and let everything connect and then I need to manually set the audio output on my iPhone to the SC2. However, everything else seems to work perfectly in this setup.

I would try to perform the intercom pairing with passenger through Sena (not TFT) as the last step. This will ensure you will not screw up the order of priority for the Bluetooth connections.

Simply put, yes. However, this means you are fully 'relaxing' the spring with no pre-load. That means that on a bumpy road it could be experienced as even harder because of the dampening. Meaning, if the spring is getting compressed rapidly in succession, it does not have time to fully extract again (because of the dampening). Therefore, a 'harder' setting which is appropriate to the load is better.

ZUMO XT works fine with this same process. The Drive app is used instead for the Zumo and it is important to reboot your iphone after installing it. Best step by step and thorough explanation of this I have seen. I did it on my R1300GS using a Sena 50s.

Thank you for your comment. When you play the music and you hear it through the phone's speaker, open the music app on your phone and select the TFT as the audio source, that should fix it. Let me know if this worked.

I changed my oil immediately after my dealer did on the 600 breakin. They had way too much in it. I like the oil in-between after the five minutes. If you let the bike sit for a while you'll see it go up more. Always on the middle to 3/4 like you had in the video. It's exactly 3.5 liters. Cheers and great video.

I had a problem, especially after leaving the bike on the side stand it would smoke for a few seconds on startup so I checked as you describe here and there was no air in the sight glass... This is after the bikes first service at a BMW dealer. What I did was to get a oil suction bottle from amazon and I managed to feed the tube down through the filer, past the timing chain and gears and suck out about 1/2 litre until it would not get any more, the oil level is now just below the top of the red ring and the smoking has stopped. It never did it before the service so I'm sure that it was just a simple mistake by an inexperienced mechanic, not letting the oil settle before adding more. Moral is to always check it yourself, such simple jobs like a 1st service usually get given to the apprentice... I'm a former apprentice mechanic so I know where the "Simple" jobs go.

Yes, always check. I had 3 cases where they filled up too much oil. I always check before I leave the dealership.

It really depends on your personal preference. I have mine set to a middle setting. This gives me the best compromise between comfort and control.

Just brought one and my seat was sliding opened it up everything was back to front the metal wire and plastic holding it also rubbers other way around.
