I have recently got my hands on a lovely Taylormade Mg 2 56* Wedge ! Am Practicing regularly with it in my back garden hitting gentle chips - when they work they are FAB !! and addictive ! However will be getting an easy to hit wedge to get me out of bunkers and chip around the green soon as a gamer - Cleveland CBX or the like ? Short game is fab ! You have to start with an EASY to hit club though !!!

I’ve never liked this tip that Ben Hogan coined because, it is possible to grip it incorrectly and still get this leverage you’re describing. This checkpoint DOES NOT guarantee a proper grip. The reason is that you can get this leverage while still palming it, you simply turn the hand to the right, making your grip stronger. This tip has lead many a golfers to a strong, incorrect grip. Tips like this aren’t useful because they’re attempting to oversimplify something that isn’t simple at all. The way you hold a golf club is counterintuitive to the way anyone would naturally grab a stick of any kind.

What if you can't physically do this? I've been trying forever to hold the club more in my fingers. I'm not sure that pad is big enough on my hand

I am very inconsistent with my driver . One day I hit very well other day I screw it up. The problems are slices, hooks ,topping . I hit well in range but in game i do make regular mistakes

Mike, best wishes for your recovery, and return to playing (not just teaching) our great game. I experienced a full thickness tear of the TFCC in my right wrist over 3 years ago. I saw three specialists, each with different treatment recommendations. I have not done surgery, yet. Please keep us posted on your recovery.

Good story. It can be challenging to maintain a positive attitude when things aren’t going your way or others in your group are always complaining. I like the quote - there is nothing to lose by keeping a positive attitude. I’ll remember that one and try to practice it.

Accupuncture really helped me, and mine went completely self-treated. Couldn't hold a club for a year without taping my whole hand, once I started strengthening it and doing treatments I started seeing improvement.
@bigtimer3543 ай бұрын
This exactly happened to me. Doctor's said nothing, just a sprain. It never got treated but spent 3 years on and off with it. Really changed my golf game for the worse. Just this year I finally got back to a semi-familiar place.

I hope things heal up well for you. I went through wrist surgery before I even took up golf and it was 7 months in a cast for me. When you do heal up be sure to keep exercising to prevent arthritis and look into graphite shafts and Turmeric for inflammation. I had surgery in my early 20's and I'm in my late 50's now and I hope to keep playing golf as long as possible.

Going through the same. The problem in Aus is that it's a 3-6 month wait to see a surgeon. And the 5 min consult is never enough to go through scans, go through all the problems - they send you on your way with a referral for injections that gets you nowhere. Been dealing with mine for 10+ years.

Thanks for sharing - I had a major left wrist injury two and 1/2 years ago - TFCC tear and Ulnar pain- didn’t play golf for a year - surgeons wanted to perform Ulnar shortening surgery - I avoided it! Received various treatments; including PRP therapy - I can now play golf (heavily taped with brace) - all the best to you

Mike - Thanks of sharing your story. I pray it's all going to be up from here following your surgery, and that the recovery and rehab goes great, and that you'll be on the course a lot in years to come.

I had TFCC surgery in 2006 after my daughter was born. I had the best surgeon in NYC. I also found MAT (Muscle Activation Therapy) to be extremely helpful after the surgery. I almost want to say that I wish I had done that first before going through that surgery. I have learned that where the pain is located usually comes from somewhere else. Good luck to you. I know what it's like to not play golf from pain. You are young and will have plenty of golf ahead of you.

pitching wedge tbh, if it’s not a hill up the green then maybe a 5 or something to get it running down the green, i would use a 60 or 56 for a higher and further shot.

I like the idea of left hand low. My problem, or my thinking, is that I don't have the feel as I do with other putting grips. But I do like the shoulders being instantly aligned which is a big help.
