Been doing 2.5 mg for 3 months and down 20 lbs. Constipation a problem. Concerned that going to 5 (from 2.5) may increase constipation issues??
@leahdozier19 күн бұрын
Constipation can be serious. I think that you may want to try to get a good solution in place prior to increasing your dosage. Here are some things that I have heard recommended: • make sure you are drinking an adequate amount of water as hydration matters • consider drinking an electrolyte drink as electrolyte imbalance can increase constipation • move - take walks daily • minimize sugar in your diet • consider Miralax daily • consider probiotics daily • many find relief using Mag07 when nothing else works Please remember that constipation can be serious, and you should seek medical advice if it doesn’t resolve. The last thing anyone wants to experience is a visit to the emergency room due to an impacted colon. Best of luck!

Hi. I’m on 2.5 for 2 months now I lost 10lbs so far not sure if I should go up to 5mg or stay on 2.5. I’m nervous about side effects on 5mg? How are you doing ??
@Canny977Ай бұрын
@@maryd7081 I’m doing quite well apart from the reflex and thirst issues every thing is just fine. My doctor doesn’t want to increase the concentration as long as the body is losing weight. In my opinion, if you feel the 2.5 dosage is still effective then I would stick with it. If you feel like your body has started to build a tolerance and it’s becoming less effective, that’s when I would choose to increase.

To reach a healthy weight. I think I will stick to this dosage for a while as I see results, no side effects, and I am happy to do it slowly and steadily. May I add that I am taking therapy to change my behaviour, and that has helped greatly.

I and MANY OTHERS need this drug to control my A1C, High blood pressure and cholesterol levels..and oh yeah it might make me lose a little weight from my 35% BMI. You should have already been focusing on eating better if you've been on this for 10 weeks and you aren't learning different habits than whatever you have lost will definitely come back and more. And I agree with everyone else just because you have a tendency to become overweight does not mean that you should be taking a weight loss medication that is meant for people who really need it and diabetics who also really need it.

I didn't get an MRI. My doctor mentioned that if I feel like I have a lump in my throat and it's hard to swallow, that can be more indicative of a thyroid nodule. You asked for thoughts so hears mine…how dare you say that there are other medications type 2 diabetics can take. As a type 2 DB who is not overweight and eats a very low carb diet to try and maintain healthy blood sugar numbers and does not want to have to go on injectable insulin. Mounjaro has been a God send, in lowering my numbers. If this drug goes into a shortage because of people wanting to lose some weight why don't they just push themselves away from the food! I don’t have any other choices. I wish I did!! When or if it is approved for weight loss thats a whole different situation. Until then it shouldn’t be prescribed for weight loss.
@leahdozier Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment. Everyone does have different opinions. To be clear, I am not saying I am right. One point my husband made to me is that some type 2 DB patients have a hard time finding the right medication that helps them maintain healthy blood sugar numbers. As a result, if they have trouble finding that medication they can substitute it with a different medication, but other medications may not be as effective. Eli Lily has taken steps to make this drug harder to get. I am hoping they have learned from watching Novo Nordisk's struggle with Ozempic and Wegovy.

I, also, find the gut microbiome fascinating. I could probably talk about it all day. I have read a lot of studies about cinnamon and turmeric and overall health, but I don’t remember seeing anything directly related to its impact on the gut health. Even the latest study on fiber and gut health was disappointing. However, live and active cultures were more promising. I think Ceylon cinnamon is great! I’ve taken it randomly, but I’ve never committed to it. It’s amazing how gut health and metabolism works though. It definitely allows some people like your husband to eat a lot more and stay thin. I really wish they would do some studies on the impact of Mounjaro and slowed digestion on gut health.
